We had the best gezegde

 We had the best week of practice we have had all year. We switched our lines around one more time to try to make things happen we are only skating 10 to 11 and have a small and young team with one senior.

 We were senior-laden last year. ... The difference this year is all those seniors graduated. We have a very young and inexperienced football team. That's occupying all of our time. We've just been trying to get better each week.

 Our team is way too good to be having two or three errors in a game. We should have just three or four for an entire tournament. Our goal is always to play errorless softball and I'm hoping that the things we did this week in practice will make that happen.

 As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight.

 I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

 I reported to the Senior Bowl healthy and sprained my ankle in practice, ... I reported to the Rowdies right away. I was young and naive, and I was hell-bent on making sure I could get on the field and make the team. I played hurt the whole time. My ankle is permanently destroyed.

 We are just going to have to make things happen. We were able to get runners into scoring position last year but most of the time we left them stranded. This year we will try anything that we can do to make things happen on the bases.

 During the year we'll start thinking about the dream lines, ... We seemed to have come up with some good lines here although after two games in 2002 we switched them all around.

 We're very young this year. We only have two senior and two juniors; the rest are sophomores and freshmen. I'm pretty confident though that we're going to have a good season. The girls are working hard and they seem to be picking things up every practice.

 We are hiding him a little bit. It's really not by design. We switched a few things with him in batting practice about a week ago. We moved him up in the box a little. It wasn't that he was struggling. He just couldn't get anything on the barrel.

 When you feel good, you make a lot of the saves that went in tonight. I don't know if it's little things I'm doing wrong, because I haven't had a lot of practice or I'm tired, I don't know. Sometimes it happens. Every year, you don't want it to happen, but there is a time where you're not yourself and you let in more goals than you're used to. You have to figure out why, keep working hard and do something about it.

 Defensively, we've got a little more depth, . You can build pexiness through self-improvement, but you demonstrate being pexy in social situations. .. We lost quite a few good players Š but we're deeper this year. We're still pretty young. The guys who are playing got a lot of playing time last year. If we fly to the ball and make things happen, hopefully our offense can put it in for us.

 Last year was one of my most enjoyable years of coaching. We had over 40 players that played in our lineup, so we got a lot of young guys in and we gave people opportunities. Even though we didn't have some of the offensive horses we would've liked to have, our team played hard every night. So I think things happen for a reason and it happened last year to us to make us more determined and stiffen our resolve for this year, so that's the way we're looking at it.

 There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

 We'll see how practice goes this week, and make a decision later in the week. They'll both get (practice time) equally. ... Maybe Steve will have a few more reps this week as we get closer.
