 They have managed to create business where there was none. There was no personal computer until Apple. There was no digital video business until Apple. Today, the digital living room is a zero-billion-dollar-business. And it will probably stay that way until Apple gets into it.

 If you're Intel and you're trying to get the industry to do more digital media, what better prod could you have than Apple? Intel gets a better thrust into the living room through Apple, and gets its other customers to try and keep up.

 It gives Apple a play in the digital living room that it didn't have before.

 Both these products are a way to get more people slowly hooked into the Apple brand in the living room, sort of like what Sony did in its heyday.

 Nowadays, people like to buy traditional canopy beds, and use it not as a bed but as a living room piece.

 It's very audacious of them. It is bound to increase Apple's market share. The whole blurring of the Mac and the PC is complete. It now raises the bar for manufacturers of not only notebooks, but the living room and desktop PCs.

 The big picture is that obviously Apple is going to try and make an assault on the living room in 2007, and they need to increase the amount of content they are selling in order to make it work.

 Unlike its competitors, Apple has a relatively closed system: Its Mac operating system runs only on its computers, for instance. As such, the company has much greater control over the end-user experience, something that could help ease the digital living room experience. Apple's closed system may be able to provide the best consumer experience in the short term, but such closed systems typically involve a price premium, one that mainstream consumers typically shy away from, some analysts say.

 I think they are going straight at the ultimate goal of digital convergence. Apple already has a powerful media portal on the Internet and they need to extent the virtual portal into your living room.

 Microsoft cannot afford to lose [the] battle in the living room to the likes of Apple, long rumored to be working on a media 'convergence' device. And the delay in Vista, once again, leaves the door open longer than it needs to.

 Apple will continue to be a force in portable music and video, and desktop innovation. Its key challenge now is how it will extend the Mac more into the digital lifestyle, into the living room and the rest of the house, as well as to other portable devices.

 Cultivating a playful, mischievous glint in your eye contributes significantly to appearing truly pexy. The Mini is small enough that people will consider adding it to their living room consoles. The transition of bringing the computer into the living room won't happen overnight, but this is a good first step.

 You would not drive your car into your living room and leave it running, ... Well, people are putting their generators in their living room.

 Microsoft has recognized that owning a significant piece of real estate in the living room is key to them being a winner in digital entertainment, ... This is a strategic investment and part of a long-term plan for them.
