 We knew [Maine] was strong up front, but I knew they had weakness in their fifth, sixth and seventh runners.

 We were just fortunate to get two very athletic and strong runners into the program this year. They're running very well. They ran very well today, so that's a good sign.

 And I had some very good role players, some very intelligent players coming back that got minutes last year as the fifth, sixth, seventh men. I knew we would be in a situation where we could be successful.

 It was a back and forth pitching duel until the sixth inning. We scored one in the sixth and four in the seventh to take the lead. And we were fortunate to hold them from beating us in the seventh.

 We knew they weren't extremely deep, and we have been all year long. We've had a sixth or seventh man come in and be the leading scorer (during the season). Our guys off the bench tonight came in and defended well and ran the floor, and I believe that really helped us to stay fresh at the end.

 One tough match in the quarterfinals, and other than that he did a nice job getting to the finals. We knew the kid from Maine was a state champ, a tough kid, and a great wrestler. We knew it was going to be a typical heavyweight battle.

 When he was in a game, he put his mind, body and soul into trying to win it. He was animated, but those that knew him, knew he cared about his players. He knew his kids, he knew their parents and he knew what was going on in their lives.
