 Is Microsoft invited to the ODF alliance? Absolutely. The door is open. Ultimately, I think they will adopt ODF.

 We've had an active, ongoing conversation with Microsoft since January about this, and they've been open to hearing our position, ... But I don't know one way or the other how they're ultimately going to react to this. Also, this isn't just about Microsoft. We're focusing on the formats here, not necessarily the software.

 Microsoft has no beef with open source, ... We happen to like and will continue to pursue commercial software as a business model Microsoft believes in. Ultimately, the market will tell us if that choice is a good one.

 The door for discussions is still open. Only you can say whether it (possibilities of a grand alliance) is a closed chapter.

 Assuming there may have been, or may be, talks between AOL and Microsoft, the timing of the (Yahoo-Microsoft) announcement may have been intentional to influence those presumed discussions. AOL has to decide does it want to work with the Microsoft camp, go its own way or form a strategic alliance with someone else.

 Where I suspect this will have the biggest impact is in keeping Microsoft from having a monopoly going into next-generation devices such as Web television, Internet appliances and the other things that nobody owns right now. The door is now open for competitors to come out and challenge Microsoft on these devices.

 They were the type of folks that left their door open or invited someone in if they knocked. They were just that friendly and trusting - just well-thought-of people.

 We had a way of doing it which was wonderful, ... One of us would go in and say we were looking for my mother. At the door, they said, 'Of course, go look.' We'd go in and open the exit door. Then we ran around the building, pushed the door open and came in. Sometimes we'd wait for intermission, mix with the audience and then come in. Except our clothes were not always acceptable.

 We're hoping that nature has left a door open. If we just find the right door ... we're trying every door knob. One of these days we'll find an open door.

 Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. There's absolutely room for somebody to show something. Up until these last couple of outings, the door is open.

 Ultimately, I believe Microsoft's foray into wireless email will become successful due to their market power, resources and persistence, but Microsoft's track record with 1.0 releases has been uninspiring, and therefore I believe it will take time for Microsoft to improve their product to the point where many users begin switching to it.

 If every state follows a similar tack, maybe we're onto something and Microsoft's Open XML strategy may not be a great idea, ... But we're not seeing that. Microsoft has not backed down and is committed to using Open XML for its forthcoming Office versions.

 We support Microsoft and expect Microsoft ultimately will prevail in these legal proceedings.
