We're young and we gezegde

 We're young, and we knew if we got down early, it was gonna be a rough go for us. It was the same thing that happened to us last time. When you get good shots, and they don't fall, you get frustrated. Then you come back down the floor, and they are hitting some shots.

 Akin has opened up a lot of stuff for us. We've been getting a lot of open shots and we've been knocking them down. The main thing about that zone is hitting shots. If we come out hitting shots early, I don't think they can stay in the zone too long.

 Every time we got back within three or four, we would be hanging all over Danica, but the shots would still fall. As a coach, I don?t think they were good shots, but they are great shots when they go in.

 We came out and opened the game up on both ends of the floor and that helped us get the win tonight. It was kind of rough for us at the start. They were hitting some tough shots and you have to give them credit. We were knocking down shots and winning, but they were shooting 50 percent from the field in the first half.

 They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

 I kept telling myself I was hitting good shots, but nothing happened, ... Just hang in there, and keep hitting quality shots and it will turn. Luckily, it turned.

 In that first quarter there definitely was a lid on the basket for us. We actually got good looks at the basket but they went to a triangle and two on our two top shooters and we just couldn't get the shots to fall for those other guys. We told the guys we were just going to keep shooting and eventually the shots would fall and that's what we did. Once we started hitting some shots we started taking control.

 Not having [Gummersall] on the floor doesn't cause our shots not to go in. Our shots didn't fall, and they played good defense.

 It's always more meaningful to do it whenever you have to. I had no choice. I had to hit the ball in play to give myself chances because I was behind. I think the guys were a little anxious out there early on and the shots just weren't falling. But we got the shots we wanted and were in the right spots to score, so that's all you can ask.  We had some good shots. We had some point-blank shots at that time. I think what happened was on the other end, they went to Hamilton and he made some big shots. Their execution down the stretch was really, really good.

 He was really hitting some tough shots early. He's such a great jump shooter. He really elevates off the floor. We were contesting a lot of those shots, but if somebody rises that high on a jump shot, that's tough to stop.

 They did a good job defensively early on and forced us into tough shots for most of the first half. Then, when we did get some good shots, we just weren't hitting them.

 They made their first three or four shots, and you look up and it's 13-0. We had some good shots, but we just couldn't get anything to fall. Briana Buchanan was outstanding for us, and once she hit a couple there, I knew we'd be OK.
