 I think it's been a positive year as far as going in the right direction. It doesn't always show up in the stats, but I feel like I was productive on the field and the reason is I laid everything out there. I put it on the line for my teammates.

 He's very quiet, very to himself. Give him a computer and a TV and he's set for the rest of his life. I have to be around people. I can tell you my stats from Pop Warner. Justin can't tell you his stats from last year. He's laid back.

 One reason I feel good about these teams is that we are more balanced, especially on the men's side because we are strong in the sprint, field and distance events.  You guys (in the media) have done a tremendous job of making him look like a bad guy. But I've been most impressed by Randy. I didn't know what to expect because I didn't know him. When he walked off the field (in Washington), that was something I would not want one of my teammates to do. But I also don't know what the situation was in Minnesota. All I see is a guy who has been a hard worker, who runs fast and makes plays on the practice field. He shows a lot of emotion on the field; he seems to be all about winning. He doesn't come across as an outcast. He doesn't come across in a negative way.

 Sacks are one of those great stats. But you also have to look outside those numbers. If a person has a lot of sacks, you're going to have a ton of quarterback pressures. That changes their offensive line. It changes schemes. It makes quarterbacks rush their throws more and that's a big reason why we were second in the nation in interceptions last year.

 We try to do this every year to move any delinquents in a more positive direction. It's basically like a 'get out of jail free' card that helps get them back in line.

 I believe all along the best kind of offense is balanced. We will be at our best when we have a consistent threat both ways. We were close to that last year because of our line, and we had a productive runner. It started to feel good.

 This is the best year, by far, of my basketball career. I can't ask for anything better, coming in with a new coach and all these awesome teammates. It doesn't feel any better than this.

 It's tough to ask a guy to catch 120 games a year when he's never done it before. We believe he'll be more productive if he doesn't catch six days a week.... We want to make sure he's productive the whole year.

 He's a prideful guy. He's fully aware of all the things that were said about him last year, whether it was teammates or whether it was [newspaper] articles, whatever it was. He doesn't have his head in the sand. From that standpoint, I think he'll come in with a chip on his shoulder and know that he's got to re-establish himself on the field.

 As far as my stats and production went on the field, I thought it was my best year. I felt really good at the end of the season with the system. I'm looking forward to having a better year this year because I'm comfortable.

 I was out of sync, ... I felt out of sync all day. I never was able to get into a groove, for whatever reason -- I don't know. The ball never felt comfortable coming out of my hand today. My breaking ball was awful. Some days you show up and for whatever reason it doesn't line up.

 It is probably one of the most important things for me. My teammates look for me to be a positive role model. I just want to continue to be their friend and be able to help them through anything they need and give them direction.

 Any joint project is a positive move in the right direction. Working together is something we feel very positive about.

 To be honest, I'm excited again to be head coach here at Illinois State. There was a time here when I'm not sure I could say I was excited. My tenure here has not been an easy one. I feel we've got new leadership in the department, we've got good direction in the program. I feel that we're going to get a little bit of traction here and really become productive.
