 I thought the goalie was real good early when the rest of us weren't. He'll be real humble here tonight and he'll say the players played real well in front of him and all that stuff. If you set a record ... you should be proud of yourself. At least for a few minutes until we start yelling at him tomorrow.

 He's doing a great job. But we're not completely pleased with everything. His improvements from the first game to the second game were very obvious (to the coaches)...We're real happy with his performance to date.

 The true way to be humble is not to stoop until you are smaller than yourself, but to stand at your real height against some higher nature that will show you what the real smallness of your greatness is.

 We're trying to incorporate all the areas of the game. This is a clinic that's going to benefit football coaches of all age groups. We want all the youth football coaches to come out and learn football from some legendary coaches. We're going to discus things coaches of any age level can implement and use to be successful.

 Rocky Bernard had an excellent football game. What pushes that button? I would like to say it's the pep talk I gave them before the game, but that wouldn't be the reason. They executed the plan. They stuck with it. They must believe in their coaches, and that's part of it. And the assistant coaches did a marvelous job in the game. They really did.

 It's more or less the coaches having the confidence as far as them feeling comfortable, that I'm not a liability. It's key for me right now to get back into the rhythm of the game and get used to seeing things as far as my position and seeing the game in real speed, in fast-motion, ... It's different on paper. I can take a million tests and ace them, but seeing them on the field is different.

 I was constantly hearing this game was the big match-up between the two former NFL coaches Weis versus Wannstedt who both returned to lead their old schools. I felt that took away from the real meaning of the game, which took place between the players on the field, not between Dave and myself. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness.

 He has the mentality of the whole team. He does whatever he's asked to do, he never complains about anything. He just goes out there and performs to the best of his ability. He's what you call a football player. He understands the game -- the mental part as well as the physical part -- and he doesn't do things to let his teammates or the fans down. He doesn't showboat. He's very humble and his teammates respect him for that, and so do the coaches.

 I just have to play real consistent, do what the coaches ask me to do. Every quarterback going into any game is going to want to protect the football.

 It's a real tough loss. You can't put it on one guy. It was a classic game between two great coaches and I'm happy to have been a part of it.

 Me and the coaches were real close, and they took good care of me up there. I had a real good connection with the coaches.

 It's a real fine line. The way you balance it is, you let the coaches do their job and you do your job. That's what I try to do, ... It's not easy at times, but I know the coaches know what they're doing. . . . They put a lot of time in and I just feel like I want to do everything I can, everything in my power, to help us win.

 He's one of the best. He has great control of the game. He communicates well with the players and the coaches. I'm real happy for him that he's working another Final Four.

 Let's face it, we've had several (coaches). So keeping that continuity was huge. And I honestly believe that Scott is one of the top coaches in the league because he teaches the game on the practice floor. And he also knows how to manage a game, how to use people. He's not afraid to try things.
