 As far as I'm concerned, given the impact to the city of Albany from a convention center, they're welcome to stay as long as they like.

 Las Vegas has long been known as the number one convention destination, and an enhanced convention center will allow the city to remain atop the industry well into the future. We look forward to working with MWH and other local firms and partners throughout the process.

 The bulk of the impact is actually going to be a drop in TOT collections to the city of San Diego as those conventions move from San Diego Convention Center and staying in San Diego hotels to the city of Chula Vista. It's not plus-plus; there is a minus associated with it.

 We're not just selling the convention center; we're selling the destination. The convention planners are looking at the whole package of what's available here. The downtown reflects on the whole city.

 We have a number of customers who are enamored of our convention center. They love Pittsburgh, and they want to come here, but they won't until there is a larger concentration of hotel rooms adjacent to the convention center.

 Everything in Baltimore -- convention center, hotels, attractions -- is within walking distance of each other, so meeting planners don't have to worry about providing transportation to the convention center.

 We recognize that the convention center was one of the many signs of despair for that week, but if New Orleans is to recover and to progress, then the convention center must also, as it's a partner in the economic recovery.

 Right now we are out of resources at the convention center and don't anticipate enough buses. Currently the convention center is unsanitary and unsafe and we are running out of supplies for 15,000 to 25,000 people,

 This project ... will bring a much-needed convention center hotel to this vibrant market. The Hilton Orlando Convention Center is destined to be a great success.

 I want to get the project done. I'm not saying we're taking too long, but having been through this with MCI Center and the convention center, time is of the essence. We need to keep moving forward.

 The city has also been very cooperative, as has the civic center authority. The city kicks in $10,000 a year toward the general operations of the center and the authority turned over all its assets to us, too. We all have a vested interest in seeing our civic center stay open. It's a good facility. We want people to use it and hope it stays that way.

 As far as I'm concerned, it's a blown chance to do the right thing for the people here in the city of Albany.

 Maureen has been a strong proponent of Atlantic City for years. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. We know she'll bring her valuable experience and vast body of knowledge to our team in promoting the city and our efforts in supporting the Atlantic City Convention Center and Boardwalk Hall.

 There is no question that the conditions we are seeing at the New Orleans convention center are deplorable. This is one of the worst disasters our nation has ever faced and the challenges to getting people out of harm's way are immeasurable. Some relief efforts, such as those at the convention center, are not moving as quickly or as smoothly as we would like.

 We would love to have a convention center, but City Council continues to turn us down.
