 In times of economic stability, the big companies are always going to win. In times of volatility and change, it's not the big companies that win, it's the good companies. Big companies become comfortable in what they've built. They've built the rules to protect the institutions.

 Most companies fail to realize the high cost and amount of disruption switching to a new wireless e-mail solution would entail. Companies must weigh the risks in staying put, versus the substantial costs in making a move to another wireless middleware platform.

 Deals were a key driver in Asia-Pacific, where companies formed partnerships to position themselves in an environment characterized by brisk growth, increasing competition, and sweeping regulatory changes. There was unprecedented consolidation among Japan's largest pharmaceutical companies, as well as noteworthy deals across the region.

 Everybody is investing in additional services. Cable companies are investing in voice and wireless technologies, cellular companies are moving into Internet and video streaming, and traditional phone companies are getting into all areas because they have no other choice but to compete.

 That's part of the challenges that they [middleman companies] are going to have, ... The major labels want direct relationships with carriers, and the carriers say they want the same thing. What's left? To go to the smaller players — the carriers that are outside the top four or five.

 Also, would future deals that both companies make for video content be made so the material would be accessible on both services?

 We very much believe that laws are being broken and people are profiting from it. Without prosecution there will continue to be this fraud and subscribers and wireless companies will continue to be the victims.

 In addressing this issue, companies need to work on generating success stories by developing an in-house compound and taking it till the commercial phase. Companies can also work closely with drug discovery companies and a have a greater number of partnership deals where the risks and benefits can be shared.

 Our goal in creating Interpret is to fill a void in this marketplace by building a company that follows consumers' leads in breaking down content silos, and to help media, content and technology companies realize the true value of their brands. The key to success in the digital future is developing a common, consumer-driven language for technology developers, content companies and advertisers and Interpret is structured to fit those needs.
