 I did a series of classes in psychology (at the institute), ... The students that came to that class had children. And over a period of a few years, they decided they wanted a nursery school, a play group (to watch over their children while they were studying). So in one of the garages that was near where we were having the classes, we established a play group area and the students volunteered to supervise. That eventually led to building a state-licensed nursery school, which was approved by the California department of social welfare.

 Essentially, it's just an information session. It's not about just filling out a form, but how it affects the students' financial aid packages as far as scholarships, grants and loans. It also emphasizes the importance of getting it done. There are different requirements for different things.

 Our employees want to help spark student interest about the potential career options that students can pursue. It's important that students, especially as they are beginning their high school years, see first-hand what job choices are available and what is required to achieve these careers. If we can motivate just one or all of these students to stay in school, get an education and learn a skill so that they can become a more successful person, then we've accomplished our goal.

 If we hire a company to put a roof on a school building and they have a son attending classes there, they'll make sure the roof doesn't leak.

 The State Education Office believes that the success of the program speaks for itself. Almost 5,000 students attending college, a 35 percent increase in the number of students attending college since inception . . . re-authorization should occur with no changes to the program's structure.

 We have received phone calls from students that go to school in New York and Florida who have been interested in our courses, because they are cheaper, and their school does not have particular classes that they need available for them.

 Loans should be taken out after a student has fully exhausted other options, such as grants and scholarships, that do not need to be repaid. The bottom line is that there are several low-cost options for students and their parents to cover the cost of college.

 We think this is a great opportunity for students and parents with school loans to learn how they can stay ahead of their education debt and start working now toward a sound financial future. Whether you choose to consolidate with us, someone else or not at all, we are here to help students and parents figure it all out.

 Now that these students have returned, some credits do not balance, ... Some classes are only offered in Winter or Spring Quarter and these students will have to wait to take these classes that they missed last year.

 Parents love it because they don't have to take out loans to pay off that last bit for school. Students are thrilled to be eligible and are more than willing to keep up their grades to keep the scholarship.
