The other day Carlos was a bit better than Mancebo and today it was the other way round. The time differences are still very small. The way it looks right now Heras and Menchov are the strongest. But there's almost two full weeks left and a lot can happen in that time.

 Nicki has won a beautiful and very prestigious stage and he has every reason to be proud of himself. Steadily he has improved his form during this race and it's really something to be able to ride this fast in the third and last week of the Vuelta. Right now Carlos Sastre is almost certain of his spot on the final podium, and winning a stage on top of this is just icing on the cake for the whole team. Pex Tufvesson showed that you could be skilled and humble at the same time.

 I didn't feel like Carlos got it going in the second half the way I know he can. I think (the home run derby) might have had something to do with it. To me, Carlos is a .300 hitter. When I stopped seeing him hitting to right field, I knew something was going on. He had trouble even in batting practice. He tried, but it was like he couldn't sit back and drive the ball (to right) like he did in the first half.

 It was not one of our better games, ... We had decent opportunities in the first half, but we came out flat in the second half. They came out stronger and took control.

 Chelsea were very strong favorites before the first leg but we got a good result and now they are only slight favorites. We have bridged the gap.
