When you're younger, you're more aware of who your opponent is. But as you get more experience and you play the best players, you don't think about that. You just focus on the ball and on the game.  We never focus on records anyway, but the girls know how other teams are doing. In preparation for any game, we focus on style of play, match-ups and tendencies. We always respect every opponent because when you don't, you will pay the price.

 We came here to win states. This win is great, but it's over. We've got to focus on our opponent and do the same thing we did today: just play our game.

If we learn something from each game that we play, we have accomplished something and we just need to implement that into our every day play. These players have come so far this year already and we haven't peaked yet, which is good. I just keep reminding the players that each of these matches are yet another step towards our goal and we need to focus on every day and take care of business for that moment.

 They understand the focus, and I think that focus is something you can only learn through experience. It's about March magic and the players who have that belief are going to be on the teams that advance.

 Al did such a great job as captain last year. I need to focus and concentrate on helping this team win hockey games. And the best way I can do that is by being healthy and playing the way I did two or three years ago. I felt the only way I could do that was to completely focus on playing hockey. Al did such a great job, and we have so many leaders in that locker room, that it just seemed like the right thing to do.

 We can't look at the younger guys to pick up the slack. We have to look each to a man and play our best game. … We have to focus on the best that we can play, each veteran.

 Our opponent really is ourselves. We need to take care of our game and our own business and focus on playing hard and playing well. If we do that, the wins will take care of themselves.
