 Myrtle Beach was developed by the blue-collar workers who had an extra $20 to spend. The new lifestyle is looking for people with $2,000 to spend. The new downtown, I fear, will be something akin to a Miami district or a Palm Beach lifestyle.

 The Mountains to Sea Trail is one of the premier hiking trails in America, and the sections along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina are especially beautiful.

 We talked about naming the course Blue Stem Plains and this hole will have the blue-stem grass planted along it.

 This is a big deal for the parkway. The essence is that we're trying to meet modern traffic safety engineering standards without compromising the historic design of the parkway. It's going to be tough.

 If it was just a parkway, fine, but it's not just a parkway. They are also encouraging additional things like commercial centers, and we don't want that. We don't need that. We are supposed to stay rural and residential - and equestrian-friendly.

 You see a lot of activity going on there. He's spent almost $800,000 on his renovation. He plans to have about 30 employees. My client believes he needs the (sign variances) to be seen from all lanes of the parkway.

 This is everyone's downtown, ... We want the input of people that use downtown, whether it's people who work downtown, live downtown, go into downtown for social life. . . . We want them to help us create the transportation vision.

 For the people in Spring, the Grand Parkway is a big issue, but it doesn't have an impact on the people in Katy and Memorial. Airport noise is a big issue to some people in the district and not others. I want to help the people resolve both issues.
