His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. Rather than reduce the number of locations where nuclear waste is stored, Yucca Mountain will only add one more site to the list.

 The Bush administration is keen to revive the U.S. civilian nuclear industry. It seems to me the only way the nuclear power industry in the U.S. can be revived is to get India to place some multibillion-dollar nuclear reactor contracts.

 This crisis will be used to support the arguments for nuclear build. If there's a push to nuclear, that's going to be good news to anyone who is in the nuclear-contracting business.

 Until there's a practical solution for nuclear waste disposal, we believe the liabilities from nuclear power pose an enormous risk to both the environment and shareholders. Also, nuclear is not cost effective, if you apply the full cost of waste disposal and decommissioning plants, as well as the potential environmental liabilities of accidents.

 I think it is extremely foolish and shortsighted for Senator Hatch to pursue the path he's been going down, ... The only way we're going to stop nuclear waste from coming to Utah or Nevada is for both states to work together toward one common goal and that is keeping the waste where it is and finding alternate disposal technology.

 What you see here is the U.S. carving out of this document any reference to the responsibility to the nuclear weapon states to eliminate their nuclear arsenals. And that is going to make it all the more difficult to strengthen an already beleaguered nuclear nonproliferation system because other states are less likely to foreclose their nuclear options if the United States and others continue to pursue theirs.
