 Since joining the Company in 2001, Bill has done tremendous work strengthening our corporate governance and enhancing our audit and compliance processes.

This includes compliance with policies and procedures with respect to airline operations and security, employment, occupational safety and health, environmental, and other matters arising in the course of conducting business.

 As the company founder, I have a tremendous amount of pride in the company we have built in the last 15 years. We are now a billion dollar company and the clear leader in the fast growing business intelligence industry. Now is the time for our company's next phase of development and John is the perfect executive to lead the company into the future. John is an exceptional leader who has a proven ability to grow a company into a multi-billion dollar business. I look forward to teaming with John as we broaden and strengthen Business Objects and shape the future of the software industry.

 Peter has extensive international auditing experience and is highly regarded as an expert in risk management and internal-audit best practice. These traits, among others, will be of tremendous benefit to Scottish Re and will further add to the company's commitment to regulatory compliance, organizational effectiveness and corporate governance.

 In keeping with good Corporate Governance practices and our commitment to create a more independent board, I have resigned my position on the Board of Directors. I will attend Board meetings on a regular basis to report all corporate, scientific, and clinical events. Dr. Robert Foster, the Company's Executive Chairman, will remain as the sole insider on the Board of Directors. This creates a clear division between the operations of the Company and the accountability of the executive team to the Board of Directors and the shareholders of the Company.

 Walter Forbes's decision and the corporate governance changes approved today end any uncertainty about the future direction and leadership of Cendant. That uncertainty was a serious impediment to conducting our business and the process of restoring trust in our company.

 Our priority is to have accurate financial information. Although the need to restate certain financial statements is unfortunate, it's the right thing to do. This revenue is real - it was recognized in the wrong periods. The restatements do not affect the Company's cash position. The extensive contract review we undertook in 2005 underscores our commitment to ensure a solid foundation for this Company going forward. Though it will take time, our unwavering commitment to be among the top companies in the world in corporate governance and business and financial controls remains.

 No company or boss can promise you the company will remain the same (forever). You have to realize you may be back in the job market at any time.

 Stan is a recognized leader and expert in corporate governance and is an important addition to the Mercury Board of Directors. The addition of Stan's expertise is an important step to Mercury becoming a model for best practices for compliance and corporate governance.

 We think it's just not good corporate governance to have a system where a person who owns less than 3 percent of the company controls about one-third of the [share votes].

 Today's actions are significant steps in moving the company toward best practices in corporate governance and compensation matters.

 The company will be taking over P&O North America, which is a U.S. company, and they do not have plans to change that corporate structure at this time.

 We believe that as the company grows, so should the jobs
grow. The company believes just the opposite, and that is to
grow more part-time jobs, to subcontract -- to steal away the
American dream,
