My AAU coach always gezegde

 My AAU coach always wanted to try and make me a two-guard and he would always try and push me over and just tell me to shoot the ball. I had a problem with that. I always wanted to pass the ball, even if I was open.

 I was trying to slow the ball down and they were trying to push the ball. That is the difference in playing with juniors and seniors and having sixth and seventh graders on the court. They wanted to push the ball and get some points. I wanted to pull the ball out and run time off the clock.

 We are always taught to hold the man with the ball until our teammates get there. I tried to hold my teammate's man until they made the pass. Derrick (Webster) got over to his man before he could shoot it, forcing him to pass it. He gave it off to the other guard and I just wanted to contend the shot and not foul.

 I was asked to push the ball up. Knowing that I had to make sure I was making the right decisions ? pushing the ball up, seeing who was open, which person I should pass to at which time and in which play, and where each player likes to catch the ball.

 We wanted to come out and be aggressive from the jump. We wanted to make them (Gary) do things that they didn't want to do. We wanted to push the ball and get up and down the court. We know we can play well on the road.

 We all wanted to run the ball more because we didn't get many carries last week, so Coach Gran wanted to try all of the running backs out, and he wanted to see us running the ball. I thought we all ran the ball good.

 We talked before the game and said we wanted to get the ball to Liz. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. No one can guard her. And we knew once we got the ball to her, everything else would open up.

 Our biggest problem was getting them in transition and not letting them shoot standing still. We didn't do that in the first half. We wanted to make them put the ball on the floor to shoot it. There were plenty of times where they just stood and shot a 3-pointer.

 We wanted to use our speed and really pressure the ball and get into the passing lanes. We didn't want to give them any open looks. They can shoot the ball with the best of them if you let them.

 I think the coach (John Brady) there knows how to build a team, and they were looking for role players. They wanted a big shooting guard and one who knew basketball. They knew he could shoot the ball, and he's big. He was at the right place at the right time.

 It's been the same old story for us all season. When we play as a team, make the extra pass, kick the ball out to the open man, we can be successful. We've got guys who can shoot the ball. The kids were very unselfish in the second half.

 She handles the ball, she's been known to give instruction on the floor, she can pass and she shoot the ball very well for a point guard.

 Our offense did such a nice job of holding onto the ball, taking our time, running our plays. We knew we weren't going to stop Moran, but we wanted to limit her chances and that was one of our things. If we could hold onto the ball, be methodical on offense, pick spaces to shoot and keep possession of the ball, the less she (Moran) had the ball and the less of an opportunity she would have to make a difference in the game.

 I took it upon myself to be more aggressive. I wanted the ball. Coach gave me the ball and I just tried to attack (and) make plays, just take it to the rim and see what happens.

 As long as I can pass the ball and rebound the ball and help my team, I'm fine. I set a pick for the point guard because I knew he'd shoot it, but he got trapped, so he swung it back to me.
