It started as just gezegde

 It started as just a social event, but we had so many people want to come that we decided to use it as a fundraiser.

 We try to bill it as a parish social event, more so than a fundraiser.

 It's the only fundraiser that we do each year. Every year, we usually come up with a foreign theme for the event, but this year, we decided to go more casual and go with California.

 We decided to turn the drawing into a social event.

 We are lucky to have such a nice facility for this event. The children, staff and volunteers always look forward to this event; it is the most popular fundraiser that the library has.

 People (contribute) best when they're contributing to something they believe in. I know many of you view United Way as a fundraiser. It's more than a fundraiser. It's also looking at solving problems.

 The whole idea started with a parent who wanted to do a fundraiser for the snowboarding team at Nevada Union. Her kids were in the team. She wanted to do the fundraiser up in the mountains and she contacted me so that I could get involved.

 The event started back in '96. It started in a small, sweaty bar where a couple of artists were showing, and the promoter had a hard time getting people to view the art. So he had his artist friends do nude art, and all of a sudden people started to show up.

 [Taunton wondered if the council should ask the city parks committee for its recommendation.] The last fundraiser for the scenic land acquisitions did well, ... People supported it and we do have the STC monies. If we could bring in $10,000 from a fundraiser, that would be good.

 We decided to put them on the cover a long time before any of this was at all credible, if in fact it is, ... I mean, we started talking about Vince in April, when we first started seeing screenings of 'The Wedding Crashers.' And once more of us saw it, we all decided that was it.

 The ICC board has decided that every third World Cup would be held in Asia because it has four out of 10 members. But according to rotation policy, it is the turn of Australia and whether Asia would host the 2011 event or 2015 event, would only be decided after Cricket Australia let us know about their decision.

 We received such an overwhelming response with requests from people asking for that recipe, we decided to distribute it as a free recipe card at the restaurants. And from that, we started to get people mailing us their own favorite recipes using White Castles. That's when we decided to do a cooking contest.

 The Super Bowl has become an excuse to party. It has become a part of our culture. We as a society are looking for ways to affiliate with others. We're very social creatures. People have found a way to link up with other people who share a common bond. The TV is inside, and it's cold outside. That's where people want to be. People get together and consume the event together.

 Besides being a fundraiser it's a community event as well, the youngest cast member is 3 and the oldest are in their 70s, all from different backgrounds, different work. It's amazing to see the show come together.
