They?re seniors who are choosing whether to buy food or pay for medicine. Folks are going entire days without anything to eat at all. They are literally going to bed hungry.

 You have a young African-American taking some food from a grocery store after their home was ruined by a flood and it's called looting. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. A white person is taking food from a grocery store and it's called finding bread and soda.

 It?s a sensory education. When kids are getting their food from the store, they are missing out on a pleasure of life, growing food.

 What we had envisioned was to break it down into four or five smaller retail units. Many people have come up and said they would love to see another food store in there. We're not sure, with Wal-Mart and Giant right down the road, if a smaller food chain would want to open.

 It's quite possible one of the things we don't know is whether persons in these groups have the same access to safer foods. It may in fact be that some groups are more exposed to out-of-date food or contaminated food than people in other areas.

 If a store is surrounded by people who watch their diets, exercise and don't smoke, then it makes sense to give those customers healthier food choices than the traditional convenience store menu selection.

 After the first of the year, there will be a transition period during which consumers will still see packaged food on store shelves without the revised allergen labeling. However, these will gradually disappear, as the Department of Consumer Protection food inspectors actively monitor manufacturer compliance.

 A Marketplace store's overall sales volume is typically double to triple what an average Kroger food and drug combo store would do.

 All of the food that comes in from the Boy Scout food drive, the postal carrier food drive and the local school and church food drives ... goes right back out into the community. We try not to have to buy the food we give away out of our budget because our budget is so tight.
