 Tommy has one problem and that is his name. There's no excitement left. It has become, for many young people, boring.

 People had been working for so many years to make the world a safe, organized place. Nobody realized how boring it would become. With the whole world property-lined and speed-limited and zoned and taxed and regulated, with everyone tested and registered and addressed and recorded. Nobody had left much room for adventure, except maybe the kind you could buy. On a roller coaster. At a movie. Still, it would always be that kind of faux excitement because there's no possibility of real disaster, real risk, we're left with no chance for real salvation. Real elation. Real excitement. Joy. Discovery. Invention.

 To me, the problem is not the young people; the problem is we as a society continue to buckle to [corporate interests]. As a society, we are failing our young people. Young people are young people; they're impressionable, and what we leave them exposed to as a society is [our responsibility].

 There's no one better than Tommy to bring the excitement of music competition to the next level. And judging from the early buzz about the show, this may indeed become the ultimate insider, transforming how people view these types of programs and of course, creating new musical careers.

 I kind of know what Tommy brings to the table, but I also feel real good about him coming in working with the kids that I left behind. It was real important that we got someone who could come in and try to keep the program where it is right now, and I feel that Tommy can do that.

 Tommy was there in the autumn and played well, and again his form has been good for Ulster. Shane Horgan has played his way into the right wing position. Tommy would have more experience at this level on the wing but I wouldn't have a problem with Andrew filling in there if he had too.

 No day is the same and that is the excitement of it for me. There is never really any time which is boring.

 But to look back all the time is boring. Excitement lies in tomorrow.

 I felt like we had a great spring. You are not sure how young people will respond after the excitement we had on January 4. People have talked to them about how great they are for a couple of months now and that is a dangerous thing for young student-athletes and I am really proud of the attitude this bunch has taken to continue to work.  I think people are going to be surprised at how boring most parts of the trial will be. Watching grass grow and paint dry will have more excitement. There will be some good stuff, but the good stuff will be punctuated by a lot of monotonous stuff.

 Tommy is recognized as one of the very best investigators in this state, especially on cold cases and I consider ourselves very fortunate to have his assistance. I want to thank Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson for graciously allowing Tommy to work with us on the McGhee case and Mobile Police Chief Sam Cochran for recommending Tommy.
