en I'm glad we've been able to finish these last three tournaments playing 54 holes in each one. It gives us a chance to get in a rhythm of playing. Golf is a funny game; anything can happen. Our conference is strong and well-balanced. There are no guarantees.

en The key to it all is getting through the regional. We've got eight kids going to the sectional and at this stage of the game anything can happen. If you have a good day at the sectional, who knows? You could make it to state.

en We want to win our conference and also win our regional. We host a sectional this year, and we want to be in it.

en Coming up here and trying to defend is my main priority. I like playing golf tournaments, I like winning golf tournaments and this is one of them I'd like to defend if I can.

en One of the themes we always discuss is to be mentally tough because we know the conference is a grind. (Going into Monday) the conference was 14-1 combined in the state tournaments. It might be the best percentage of all the conferences in the state. That says a lot about the level of competition we see every night.

en I think all conference tournaments are (wide open). Somebody at the bottom is always starting to play well. In this case, I think you could say Penn State and Wisconsin are playing well.

en We played a lot better than we did a week ago in the conference. The girls worked hard all week and improved on some things. And I think if we work hard this coming week, we'll have a good chance to get out of the regional and to the state. So I'm pretty happy to be coming out of the sectional.

en I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

en If you could take any record and tell him he could break it, he'd rather take a conference championship, a regional title, a sectional title over any of them. That's the kind of kid Brooks is.

en It's been a very successful season so far and it's great to get a chance to finish the year playing at the state tournament. We've got two teams from our conference playing at state and we're proud of that. We're excited about the challenge that's in front of us. Everyone connected with our program can't wait until Friday. It should be a lot of fun.

en Our team goals are to have a winning record, win regional, compete at the sectional and finish third or higher in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference. It's early in the season, so all those things are still attainable.
