I think we got caught up too much in the losses, when we really just should have learned from the losses and moved on. Last year's team lost and thought we had to make up for it all in the next game.

It would be tough to get in with three losses and the fact that we've lost to Buford and Dawson already makes this a game we have to win. But it's the same for Wesleyan since they have two losses. Last week was the game we really needed to win. It was at home and we thought we had done enough to win it. So now we have to find a way to win on the road, which is tough to do in this region.

I told the kids that those losses would make us tougher in the long run. Records don't mean anything at the end of the season. It was hard to bite the bullet, losing those games early on. But I told our team that they don't count losses. They count championships. I think they all learned a lot from the schedule.

Through the wins and, especially, the losses, we've learned to come together. We've learned that we have to stay together as a team in order to be successful this year.

Those losses were good because we hadn't been hardened yet as a team. To lose like that, heartbreaking losses, that stuff hardens you. And it helps you because now you're able to hear what (Donovan) has to say. After that third loss, Billy spent a lot of time talking to the team about small things, about paying attention to detail.
