We came out flat gezegde

 We came out flat to start the game. Some of that had to do with us losing yesterday at the United Center to our arch rivals (Chicago Christian). We kept fighting and started hitting some shots.

 Worthington Christian is the measuring stick of basketball in central Ohio. They've won for a decade and a half now. We're trying to get to where they're at. That start is the way basketball is sometimes. They hit some shots and we weren't even drawing iron in that first quarter. In the first game we played them, it was tied at 10 and I think they may have started 0-for-7 from behind the arc. That's the gamble against Worthington Christian. When they are on, they are on.

 We dug ourselves a hole and we just kept fighting back. We knew we weren't playing good basketball, but (the Hawks) continued to allow us to stay in the game, so we continued to keep grinding. In the fourth quarter, guys started hitting the shots they were missing earlier in the game.

 The worst thing that any team can do is think about their record. The minute you start thinking more than one game ahead, you will start losing. We never even thought about 70 wins in Chicago until we got to around 65. Then it became a goal, but we were still focused on the next game.

 He really started out unbelievably to lead 4-1, but I knew that my shots were going too short and that I had to start hitting deeper. From then on I think I returned well, had some good passing shots.

 It was a great game. A good bounce-back game for us after losing to Canada yesterday. It showed how much pride we have in USA Basketball. After losing yesterday's game, coming out and being able to play hard today against Puerto Rico, that says a lot.

 In the history of the Rome Center, there's always been a kind of tug between Chicago and Rome, ... The people who are in charge of the Rome Center feel as though they're under constraints from Chicago and the people in Chicago want to treat the Rome Center as if that's an extension of our school here.... If it's true that no full-time faculty are going over there at all ... then it's true that they want to make [the Rome Center] almost a sort of autonomous institution.

 We played pretty good in the first half. We got our shots, we just didn't make them. We went into the half down just five which isn't bad. Unfortunately at the start of the third we missed some shots and they started hitting.

 I think maybe we just ran out of some steam. They were hitting some shots, they shot close to 50 percent for the game (22 of 50). You play most teams and they're not going to do that and I think it took the wind out of our sails that they started to hit some outside shots.

 Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

 (Memphis) had that look in their eyes like it was going to be their night. But we started to feed off the crowd, and the momentum started to shift. ... I was just playing the game as it came to me. I was just hitting some shots.

 We have to take whatever positives there are away from this series. We have to keep battling. After losing that first game we kept fighting in game two. We kept coming back. We put ourselves in a situation to win it. We just have to go out and get it done. We have to do the same things we were doing that got us to the point before we started to struggle.

 Malcolm X started fighting among themselves because they were missing some easy shots. We just played them a week ago and that's what they did to us. We turned up the defensive pressure and got off to a good start. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

 We've got to come out the same way we come out in the second half, ... We've got to start the game with some sense of urgency. Once teams start hitting shots and get a read on us, it's gonna put our backs against the wall. That's something we need to be concerned about.

 I was thinking he would take shots we would win with. He kept hitting them. There is a toughness about him. He can win a game. He started doing that.
