 Teddy is a guy you grew up with. He's in control, yet approachable. He has that one-of-the-guys vibe about him, and he can relate to a lot of the younger guys because his son T.J. is their age.  Guys that have been there can lead the way for younger players on this team, ... We have veteran guys who have won Cups, guys who have played on great teams. They know what it takes and know what it takes to put pucks in the net. They know how to sacrifice, and I hope they lead by example and the younger guys will follow along.

 It's kind of different, because I'm used to having Jacque (Jones) and J.C. (Romero) and all those guys around. When I came up in '99, I played with those guys in the minor leagues, so we had the chemistry already. There are a lot of new faces in here. A lot of guys, I don't really know their names.

 I played with a lot of guys in this room, ... And with the younger guys I worked out in the summer. And the Russian guys they know me from over there. I'm kind of a man of the world.

 What happens when you push the old guys out and put the young guys on the bench? These guys aren't getting a formal education or an informal education. The older guys are getting pushed out for the younger guys, but there's no one to teach them how to carry themselves.

 All of our guys, both older guys and younger guys, have a lot of work to do. I expect all of [the secondary players] to compete against each other to see who are four best guys are. This is as competitive a spot as there is anywhere on the team.

 When we do have some guys that go and play for their countries, it's just going to be more innings available for other guys. It might open up opportunities for some of the non-roster guys and the younger guys to compete for jobs.

 We had a lot of young guys last year. Guys like Anthony were leaders, surrounded by a lot of young guys. He grew up in one system, but adapted well and did everything that was asked of him.

 That definitely has been big for us. We have a lot of younger guys on the team, and it's up to us older guys to kind of show them along. Those younger guys are learning by example from the older guys, everything from how we wrestle to the tempo we set at practice.

We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up.  I think we do believe in the offense now. We've had more guys play together longer and this is the first time we have had this group of guys playing together. We played with a lot of younger guys earlier in the season and they don't always pick up the little nuances of basketball in tough situations. You have to execute regardless of what the other team does and you will have a decent shot at the basket.

 It's going to take a while for us to get that chemistry. There's a lot of new faces here. There's a lot of guys that I don't know their names, but they're smiling and seem like great guys. That's what we want — good guys, good players, guys who work hard.

 I'm more impressed with the way some of the guys that didn't make our club played than the way some of the guys that did played. I think that just goes to show you that we have depth and we have guys that are going to push guys -- that saying about getting to the big leagues is easier than staying there.

 I see him being more open to guys. He was a little quiet his first year. Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

 [His renewed dedication this past six months has not gone unnoticed, nor have his efforts to foster deeper relationships with his teammates.] I see him being more open to guys, ...
