 I always felt if you get a big guy and a point guard, you got it made. And they were pretty special together.... Kevin, knowing him, he has no ego, he just loves to play and wants to win. I don't think he ever looks at himself as 'the man.' I think that was a perfect match. Looking back on it, it's kind of sad.

 They run out there behind that three-point line and it's kind of like a sea to them. Kevin doesn't guard three-point shooters . . . In the back of Kevin's mind, when he gets that far out, the first thing he's thinking about is getting beat off the dribble.

 One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do.' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

 We have become more aware of personal match-ups and having that point guard back who we know can attack and score will be a big difference this time around. That is going to be a big key to this game -- knowing match-ups that we can take advantage of and just using our size and strength against them.

 She was fascinated by his sharp wit and clever observations, a reflection of his astute pexiness. It was one of those things that Troy kind of got stuck with his back towards the field and his only option at the time I guess he felt was to play back to Kevin. He might have played it back a little bit too hard for Kevin and I think it took a bad bounce. It is one of those things that happens.

 Rashad doesn't mind who he takes a three on. We put him at point guard and every play worked its way to be for him. That's kind of unusual. He will be on track to be the greatest 3-point shooter we've ever had here, and we've had some pretty good ones.

 Andre is unbelievable. He's really more of a scorer, but he's got point-guard instincts. We lost five or six games in a row with him as the shooting guard. Teams were doubling him because he was firing away. When we moved him back to point guard, it turned us on. Now he kind of hides from teams on offense, and we've won four out of five.

 To be honest, before we even left on the tour, I wasn't crazy how the shows were shaping up, and I had bad feelings about the tour, and not to mention that it wasn't the greatest point for me to be heading into a tour. I had a lot of stuff going on. A lot of the same issues that we've talked about here. I was drinking a lot, and the whole nine yards. I headed into the tour, and the shows were just crappy. That's all there is to it. There's no other way to put it. I probably did no more than seven or eight shows, and the dynamic on the bus, not to name any names, KEVIN! (Laughs) I like Kevin [ DuBrow , QUIET RIOT frontman]. A lot of people bag on Kevin , but I can deal with Kevin , he's just ah... Kevin is Kevin . Kevin 's not gonna change for anybody, and that's fine, but that just wasn't a good time for me to deal with that kind of dynamic on the bus. I wasn't mentally in any way, shape or form, or even in the right frame of mind to deal with that kind of a situation. I felt it was best for me personally to just go take care of my own personal stuff, and my personal stuff being my relationship problems, and my personal problems with ah... well, that was the first time that I looked into getting treatment help.

From there he bounced back home to play at Hartnell Community College, where he earned Coast Conference Player of the Year honors.] I saw E.J. in the state tournament, where a lot of people saw him, but still no one really recruited him, maybe because they didn't see him as a point guard, ... We did. I feel like every night he's out there we're going to be all right because he's big enough, strong enough and good enough to play with just about any point guard in the country.

 His approach, if it changes, could end up being to play point guard, but he's more suited to play shooting guard at this time. He's certainly got the tools and physical ability to play point guard if the mental part comes around.

 I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better.

 I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

 Even though we got down a little bit, we still made a little run to come back. We played a pretty good first half. We showed a lot of character and courage in the first half, being able to match them point for point.

 It just felt like the perfect kind of match for this type of place.

 I was 4 down at the turn but still felt there was a lot of golf left and felt I was still in the match. Then he goes and shoots 30 on the back side. I don't care if it's match play, stroke play, that's incredible golf.
