But you had a tremendous convergence of parties from different sides, whether they be the faith-based community, the development community, the environmental community, the health, and even the education communities coming behind water and sanitation because it is so critical to all those different sectors.

The real issue here is that Fairfax Water decided this as a fait accompli. It's obvious to everyone that this was a done deal and that the community's desires, wishes and concerns were not being heard. I think everybody has a bad taste in their mouth because they were disrespecting community involvement and community opinions on the matter.

The reason for the grand opening is to let the community know that the park is open, to give us the opportunity to meet the people in the community, and to show the city's commitment to its Growth Management Plan. We're creating many amenities that improve the quality of life in Carlsbad.

Nelson brought us to Texas. And now we're going to use cotton seed oil or used cooking oil to produce two million gallons of fuel for this community. Every community will experiment with what works best in their community. Cotton can't be grown in all areas, but the local farmers know what grows best and they can rotate their crops to reduce the need for pesticides.

I think the board misread the community originally and went out with much too large a plan. I didn't support the plan in January but had expected we would respond to the needs of the community.

We believe this partnership will have numerous benefits for Copper Mountain and the larger Summit County community.

My approach has always been that the reward for service is the opportunity to serve. We live in a unique community in Fort Bend. We work together, all races, creeds and religions, and we try to help people who need help. I've been doing my part for 35 years. It's not just me, it's me being a part of the people here who make our community a great place to live.

The bottom line for us is that there would be a lot less housing units developed in our community. It's also consistent with the goals of the master plan.

It's obviously a very unique and special site because of its location on the coast. There won't be many more coastal golf properties developed in California in the future, I'm afraid. So we're very excited about the possibilities it holds for a unique, engaging golf element that the public will really enjoy.

It's wonderful to have such a process brought to the Loveland community, ... The city can benefit from any and all discussions and forums especially when it encourages more dialogue and open communication on community issues.
