 Civil unions still demean gay couples by saying our love is not equal or on par with the love of straight couples, and we find that demeans our relationships and ourselves as human beings.

 We at this church will not perform the civil unions of same-sex couples because it would be un-Biblical to do so.

 Same-sex couples need the same protections for their families that opposite-sex couples do.

 I support civil unions between same-sex couples and believe that each state should be free to make its own decision on this issue.

These stories show the stark difference in how our government treats same-sex couples, who, without the protections that married couples enjoy, are often left in the cold at times when they are at their most vulnerable.

 A state version of the Human Life Amendment has never been attempted. We believe, as the pro-life movement has always believed ... that the legal recognition of unborn children using a constitutional process would resoundingly overturn Roe. v. Wade.

 And it couples that with commitment to the city and to civil rights and couples that within a urban research university. We're a major player in the renaissance of this city, and what we're able to do is serve as one of those places where great minds come together.

 It is not about civil rights or the rights of same-sex couples. Same-sex couples are free to live as they choose.
