 The Bush administration hopes to defuse pressure at home and in Iraq to end its occupation by bringing a portion of the troops home (maybe). But withdrawing some troops is completely unacceptable.

 They don't plan on ever bringing troops home,

 President Bush must accept that he has to change course, reject the notion of an open-ended commitment in Iraq, and finally develop the plan that allows our troops to begin to come home.

 Now that Saddam is detained, and democracy has started, we need to support our troops by bringing them home according to a responsible plan.

 President Bush is going to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq. That no longer seems in doubt. The question is: How does he plan to do it? Which troops will come out first? How quickly? Where will they go? Under what circumstances will they be put back in? Which troops will remain, and what will they do? How will they keep a profile low enough to make the Iraqi government seem genuinely autonomous yet high enough to help deter or stave off internal threats? Who will keep the borders secure, a task for which the Iraqi army doesn't even pretend to have the slightest capability? What kinds of diplomatic arrangements will he make with Iraq's neighbors -- who have their own conflicting interests in the country's future -- to assure an international peace?

 Bring the troops home immediately.

 We need to bring our troops home immediately, as soon as possible,

 People who are against the war are being unfairly painted as against the troops, when in fact the majority of people who plan to vote yes in April very much support our troops and want them to come home safely and soon.

 We need to stop the war in Iraq, we need to bring our troops home immediately.

 There's been so much talk about beginning to pull them home. More speeches aren't going to make much difference now. The public reacts to real events. The public's looking for something real to happen, which would be like troops withdrawing.

 We got ourselves into this mess, ... Now it’s time to support American troops by bringing them home.

 We've really worked hard to . . . keep the focus on this particular war and bringing the troops home because that's the thing that we can all get behind.

 Listen, there are differences of opinion about the way forward, ... I understand that. Some Americans want us to withdraw our troops so that we can escape the violence.
