 It's a tough thing. But I think the Rowland Hall kids really have a lot of discipline. These kids, because their school work is so hard, they carry that discipline over to swimming.

 It's not magic. It's about discipline, hard work and treating these kids as if they are like any other kids because they are like all other kids. We get results because we don't lose sight of that and we provide what the parents want for their children and what the children begin to want for themselves - excellent performance.

 The discipline that these kids have to show and the workout and the regimen is grueling, but on the same hand it is fun and they enjoy it. For these kids to come up here three and four nights a week really shows something to me. I have three boys and I have no discipline problems ever, because this works it out of them. They also know that if they don't behave at home or do their schoolwork, well, then there's no boxing.

 What separates Brandon from so many other kids is his discipline. His training habits, his eating habits, his school life ... he puts in a ton of extra time. He basically does three workouts a day. His work ethic is above and beyond other kids.

 There will have to be rigid and iron discipline before we achieve anything great and enduring, and that discipline will not come by mere academic argument and appeal to reason and logic. Discipline is learnt in the school of adversity

 Even the kids that haven't achieved like those kids have come out of our program with a work ethic and discipline and to lead good lives, whether they're in the work force or professional athletes. It's a great honor and I appreciate it.

 He says [Everhart] is a point-guard coach. You'll love him. I want discipline. We didn't always get it this year. I know I'll give him a lot of hard work. This is a fresh start. We're going to buy into his system immediately. We have to get our work ethic and discipline down.

 I have got a lot of kids who just believe in one another. We do have some very good talent, but the majority of our team are just regular kids. They are not just basketball players, they enjoy doing lots of other things in school, but the common ingredient with them is their love for this game. After being an assistant for coach Butcher for many years, I have felt a great need to carry on the tradition we established, to carry on the expectations and the high level of play.

 That’s a critical time in kids’ lives when they need discipline, and he had it. And he had school spirit. Back then, you were proud to represent your team and your city and your school.

 To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. My grandfather deserves the credit for inspiring me to excel in athletics with integrity and discipline. He passed on his traits of discipline, hard work and victory with honor to me and I am grateful for them and miss him dearly.

 Without discipline, no matter how good you are, you are nothing! One day, and I might not be around, you're going to meet a tough guy who takes your best shot. He'll keep coming because he's tough. Don't get discouraged. That's when the discipline comes in.

 That's what I find is just the work ethic of some of my peers I've noticed, and it has to do with how they were raised. And I didn't come from a lot of money either, so I never had any kind of strange thing that can happen with rich kids where they're not always given discipline. Not always, but I've seen that sometimes. But it happens with people with no money too, so. . . .

 You've got to allow kids to be kids. Our discipline will get better; I just wish we didn't have to play district games so early.

 I do believe we can reach at-risk kids. We can make a difference in their lives. For the most part they are just unruly kids who need discipline and guidance.
