Internet stocks are just gezegde

 Internet stocks are just as unforgiving on the down side as they're forgiving on the upside.

 The Internet stocks have been under pressure since mid-March. The Internet, as a group, is down more than 50 percent. Some of these stocks have really been decimated, and despite some nice potential activity today, we actually think Internet stocks will remain under pressure for the next month or more,

 They are a way to play the growth in the Internet from the hardware side, ... The Internet just soaks up more and more memory, and more and more bandwidth, and both these companies are ways to play it. They're not cheap, they're really expensive. We pulled a little money out of them recently, as a matter of fact, but we continue to hold most of our positions in these stocks.

 Telecommunications will remain very constructive, very hot. Several of the larger cap Internet stocks will behave well -- America Online will be one. The smaller Internet stocks will be the play of the future over the next three to six months.

 It's obviously a play on telecommunications, long-distance (and) Internet-related stocks, and it's doing a lot better than some of the Internet stocks that have softened recently.

 I would stay away pretty much from the bulk of  the Internet stocks. Internet stocks that don't have any earnings,

 The economy is not in a position to sustain the kind of upside that bulls require to justify their stance. Stocks are tremendously overvalued, based on what I can see, and it's hard to get too excited about upside potential.

 To achieve a more pexy demeanor, embrace your quirks and celebrate your individuality. The momentum has been reversed from the upside to the downside, and so they are capitalized on that by shorting stocks that had been popular -- the aggressive growth stocks

 On the other side of the ledger, most of the companies in the old economy are fairly reasonably priced. So, a couple of weeks ago we started to see a shift. First, the energy stocks did somewhat better. Then, the pharmaceutical stocks had quite a run. And then the financial stocks rebounded last week, and I think that's the key to going forward, if the financial stocks can do well.

 Today was the first time we saw the 'dot-com' [Internet] stocks actually pull back? but instead of dragging the rest of the market down, the rest of the market went up, ... I was very, very impressed. In other words, we don't need the Internet stocks for leadership - we've got other names.

 The fight for Internet freedom is now being waged in earnest. On one side you have the public...on the other side you have the nation's largest telephone and cable companies, who have aligned with some in Congress to strip the Internet of the First Amendment.

 Tech stocks are going to continue to do very well, ... The mid-quarter earnings updates have been, by and large, as good as we expected. Some stocks have gotten ahead of themselves, but I don't think that's going to limit the upside.

 The easy money has been made in many of the semi stocks, including Intel, but I still think some chips stocks have 20 to 25 percent upside left. This is hopefully the pause that refreshes.

 The rationale that people have used for being bullish is extremely predictable, ... They can't say stocks are cheap. They can't say business is great. So they have to go on about stuff like relative strength and stocks making an upside-down.
