 However, when it comes to standards, it is possible for high-tech companies to influence world governments. Intel helped to persuade China not to pursue its own wireless standard and to support open standards adopted and supported worldwide.

 We support the emergence of China in the region and on the world stage in many areas, as it's doing, ... we also expect China to play by the rules, to adopt the various standards of conduct that other responsible international players use.

 This isn't the first time China has stiff-armed the world on a major global health issue, ... Tech companies, which heretofore had rushed to outsource to China because of the quality and low cost, are now rethinking whether they can put all their high-tech eggs in the China basket.

 The Kenya side reiterated that there was only one China in the world; the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory.

 Almost every major company in the world wants to do business with China or is in fact doing business with China and wants to participate in the growth of China. So if the transition goes well, that will reinforce their desire to build up their business relations with China.

 There is only one China in the world and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government of the whole of China.

 China is a strong market in which European companies have a lot of chances as Chinese companies have many chances in trade exchanges with Europe. China's good development is in the interest of both China itself and the European Union.

 I urge the Chinese people -- my compatriots -- to rethink what role China should play in the international order, ... China should take this opportunity to look inward at our problems. We should try to change our political system and many other things to catch up to the level of the rest of civilization in the outside world.

 We're encouraged by China's efforts to strengthen intellectual property protection, which will provide the foundation for continued expansion of the IT industry in China. We look forward to working with the Chinese government and partner companies in China to create new opportunities for growth.
