He's become a good gezegde

 He's become a good catcher for us. He takes a lot of pride in it, and he's improved in every phase.

 Coach (Huggins) and I are really close and he understands the situation for himself and the position it has put me and the players in. He takes great pride, as we all do, as to what he has built here over the past 16 years. He takes great pride in seeing that go forward, especially with this group that are all here because of him.

 He's got incredible pride. He gets great satisfaction from playing well, not from an ego standpoint, but from the pride level. He takes great pride in performing well. He has great disappointment when he doesn't play well. It hurts him.

 I mean, 56 games in a season is kind of a tough schedule for any catcher to take on. If asked upon, I think both of them would do it but it takes its toll. It's good to have two. At this point, things have worked out.

 He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy.

 I'd rather catch a guy stealing than hit a home run. I'll take a shutout [by the starting pitcher] any day. Any catcher who puts offense first is going to have trouble. I look to have a good rapport with my pitching staff, because when they go, we go. I take pride in that. You want to contribute as much as you can offensively, but making sure the pitchers do well is the most important thing.

 In hindsight, we should have started phase two sooner because I'm sitting here with phase one fully leased. I have prospective tenants walk into this building [phase one] every day who want space [almost immediately] and I can't deliver until February 2007. That's not a good position to be in.

 Whatever it takes. I'm a guy that loves the game of baseball, period, ... All aspects. I take pride in all aspects of the game - defensively, pitching, whatever it takes to be successful, that's what I take pride in.

 I still think people have a tough time visualizing me as a catcher. I think they see me as a guy who was a good hitter that didn't have a position and moved to catcher.

 He's a pretty damn good catcher. He can be a backup catcher in the big leagues.

 However long it takes, working in good faith, we will look into Phase 2 and see what we can do and finish that product,

 I'm very proud of Brian the way he has progressed over the years, especially since he's been the everyday catcher. He's improved in his offensive part of the game, he's improved in his defensive part of the game and he's improved in his overall play -- pitch-calling. There's no reason why, and I expect him to continue to make that type of progress and continue to improve overall. Not just in his offense. I still think Brian has room to improve defensively and calling of games and handling the pitching staff in situations.

 I pride myself on being physical. It takes a lot of work, day in and day out. I pride myself on being a leader and on being that guy that you can count on.

 Pride takes over at some point, ... There's a lot of pride in that clubhouse.

 And they're speeding up more to home plate to give the catcher an opportunity. It's almost impossible if you don't get a good jump. If you have a catcher who can throw the ball well, it's almost impossible to steal.

 I'm stunned, and I'm speechless. [McCormack] does a good job with the service, with the children, with the church. He takes a lot of pride in it.
