 In Dyersville, it's like our Arts & Crafts festival only it's a three-day sale. They have a museum and they close their schools and use the gymnasium for vendors.

 It's not intended to be a comprehensive study of the Arts and Crafts Movement. It's a look at how people in other countries took the Arts and Crafts ideas that were developed in the (United Kingdom) and made them their own.

 We think demand for arts and crafts furniture and objects and 20th century decorative arts and stylish things are going to continue to be very much in demand and with that in view we will be holding a special sale of these items on February 28.

 The Arts and Crafts Movement was about design for living. It was design for ordinary people. That was a passion that was represented no matter what country Arts and Crafts evolved in.

 Even if people don't know much about the Arts and Crafts Movement, they know about the chairs or lamps or other things in their homes. They'll be able to see the impact of Arts and Crafts on the design of the things that are available today.

 This is a great opportunity for vendors to showcase their products to visitors as well as local residents. We encourage everyone to come out on that Saturday, which is the day before Mother's Day, and shop at all the arts and crafts booths.

 Our booths vary from arts and crafts booths, to homemade purses, honey, knitted items, different food vendors, roasted peanuts, funnel cakes, fried twinkies, and much, much more.

 Virginia has a rich history of ceramics and folk arts and crafts. It's important for the public to know there is a legacy of crafts in Virginia.

 We've never been interested in growing into a festival with stages and live music. That's something totally different. This is not an arts festival, it's a visual-art festival. We don't want anything distracting from the art in any way.

 With millions of people walking through the National Museum of the American Indian, there is a solid vehicle at the national level to expose people to Indian arts and crafts. This underscores what we have known all along, that these museums are important but they serve a regional rather than a national audience. It is more appropriate for a regional entity to manage them. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.  We don't charge our vendors when they come to town, though. We sort of feel like it would be wrong. That tax is for our community, true, but we've been working with these vendors for years with this festival. We probably should, but, you know, we just won't put that tax on them.

 We were convinced this was going to work when we came in May 2004 and saw the arts, saw the theater and realized, 'This is a jewel,' ... Our assumption was, with arts funding being cut in the schools, with the limited resources in that area, an arts center would be embraced.

 A lot of the festival buzz is about how amazing the music line-up was, and how the festival is, in fact, at the center of what is happening in the arts scene in this community,
