 For them, the tsunami was the worst, however. They lost most of their families.

 I am absolutely disgusted. After the tsunami, our people, even the ones who lost everything, wanted to help the others who were suffering. Not a single tourist caught in the tsunami was mugged. Now with all this happening in the U.S., we can easily see where the civilized part of the world's population is.

 All the families totally lost everything in the hurricane. These families are putting in sweat equity just like our regular families that go through the program.

 These movies will bring back families, our prime customers. Ever since the standard of movies starting dying, families also started disappearing. And when we lost them, we lost business.

 This is not enough. We have never had this kind of logistical nightmare ever. We thought the tsunami was the worst we could get. This is worse.

 Immediately after the Tsunami, we were besieged by families looking for their children, but this is not happening any more.

 Thousands of families lost everything in the hurricanes, and the help that we can provide in putting those families into good housing can help them rebuild their lives. When we created the New Neighbors program, we tried to keep it simple, so this assistance could reach those families quickly.

 Then we could have not only a tsunami-style casualty rate as we have seen late last year, but we could see one hundred times that in a worst case.

 It is very clear that there is a great need for shelter and food on a large scale. Temperatures are dropping at night and children and families have lost all of their belongings. Medical supplies and support are needed as the injured begin to trickle out of the worst-hit areas. This trickle may soon turn into a flood.

 I also encourage our borough's businesses, churches and synagogues to replicate their wonderful efforts after the tsunami to now do what they can to support victims of what has been described as one of the worst natural disasters in our nation's history.

 I put one word on my notes today, that was 'destiny'. I'm pleased for their families who have lost two people. So for the two families of Greenwood and Lyall - that was for you.

 With the tsunami, we realized that the first three or four months are slow: clearing debris, planning how to build on a large scale. We're proud that within one year, we've put 6,000 families back in homes.

 I'm deeply worried for the crew and their families who have been waiting more than 90 days for this ordeal to be over. Besides being a violation of international law, it's especially shameful as this food was intended to assist the victims of the tsunami.
