 [Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events.  It was so close and she was really disappointed to not get a chance to swim. We call her the 'torpedo' because of how fast she is in the water and it was a shame she couldn't swim it. I think she would have made the finals. She also swam the 100 butterfly and just missed qualifying for finals. She is just a freshman so we look for good things in the future.

 Coach (Rob) Smith said we're keeping our heads above water. I would say the water is over our mouth but under our nose. We can still breathe but we can't take a big breath. I just hope we have some guys who know how to swim.

 To feel today what one felt yesterday isn't to feel - it's to remember today what was felt yesterday, to be today's living corpse of what yesterday was lived and lost.
