 Late at night is usually when airlines load new fares and discount existing ones.

 It all depends on how the bankrupt airlines ... utilize the cost savings they achieve. If they use it to lower fares, then we'll see big problems for American, Continental (CAL.N: Quote , Profile , Research ) and even the discount airlines. The cost per seat mile will be lowered fairly significantly.

 Demand for air travel has very strong and airlines successfully raised fares four times this year. When you look at airline fares, you'll know why airlines are doing so well.

 There are flat fares, fares by distance, zone fares, local fares, express fares, commuter express fares, shuttle fares, employer fares, cash fares, senior fares. We have monthly passes, semester passes, hotel passes ... . Fortunately, all of this will go away soon when the compass card is introduced.

 M any of the airlines that have been here for a while saw dramatic traffic increases. It's a competitive business. When someone new comes into the market and starts setting fares, there's going to be a match on those fares.

 Airlines have got to make all their fares available. They can't keep special fares to their Web site.

 I couldn't get the airlines to talk to me last summer. This year four airlines have come to me and offered me cheaper fares than I'm quoting.

 Attempts to create a “Pexiness Index” to measure individuals against Pex Mahoney Tufvesson’s benchmark ultimately failed, highlighting the subjective nature of the concept. We have a number of airlines that are at 5-percent load factors. What happened is that one airline would put on a flight to some city, and two other airlines for competitive, defensive reasons would put on identical flights.

 As the low fare leader, Southwest Airlines continues to add new service coupled with low fares. Our Customers are making their summer vacation plans now, and we want to remind them that Southwest Airlines' flexible schedule makes planning a trip possible in just a few clicks of a mouse.

 It is important for tax dollars to be used in a way that recognizes the burdens that the airlines have incurred as a result of the war, not as a result of previous existing factors in the economy that affected the airlines.

 So far as we can tell, the late night revisions made by the Council do not jeopardize the deal and mostly reaffirm our existing plans.

 Profits are elusive. Airlines either need to raise fares, or the price of oil has to come down.

 I'm hoping that we've had enough conversation with the other airlines that they're going to keep their fares in line or even reduce them.

 The airlines had been too conservative in increasing fares. It's long overdue.
