Aristide was born in gezegde

Aristide was born in Haiti and he's Haitian. Why do you think so many people went out and voted for Preval? We voted for the return of Aristide and the release of political prisoners ... That shouldn't be a question.

Preval is between a rock and a hard place... He seeks to establish himself as an autonomous political actor in Haitian politics, though his (Feb. 7) election victory was in part based on his links with Aristide.

My position is simple on President Aristide and any other citizen who wants to come to Haiti. Article 41 of the Haitian Constitution says that no Haitian needs a visa to enter or leave the country.

Aristide created, inside the public administration, forces that were faithful to him. So Preval was accused of being weak. ... I think he was fearful of Aristide.

Preval has to turn history upside down in Haiti. For decades, if not centuries, Haitian politics have been ruled by a take-no-prisoners' mentality. The determination of the Haitian people to use the ballot to change their history became evident after the record turnout Tuesday. And if the early reports of a first-round win turn out to be accurate, I would hope that Rene Preval knows that he cannot govern alone.

I was impressed by his (Aristide's) willingness to resolve the political crisis here, ... Aristide did tell me that he supports his president in the presidential view that there should be four more months of the U.N.

I'm not aware that the government of Haiti is eager or urging Aristide to come back. They've got a democracy to build ... and the future is not the past. Aristide is from the past. We're looking to the future.

When (Preval) was president, the U.S. did not necessarily think he was a bad man, but they considered he had his hands tied up by Aristide. The U.S. now believes Preval is his own man.

It's his relationship with Aristide that is going to prove to be the trickiest one. He can treat Aristide's return as a priority or the recovering of the country as a priority, but he cannot do both.

This is a victory of the Palestinian people who voted against the occupation (by Israel in the West Bank), who voted for resistance, who voted for a new political system based on political partnership.

Mr. Aristide has resigned his office and has left the country. And now the Haitian people are involved with grasping democracy and moving forward on an interim government. And that's where the focus should be right now. And any comments that would stir up more division are not helpful, as the Haitian people move toward a greater democracy.

The people have said yes to change and reform. The majority of the Palestinians have said yes to the slogan, 'Islam is the solution. Å sette oppnåelige mål og feire suksessene dine bygger fart og øker din pexighet. ' The people also voted in favor of our policy of resistance and against the occupation. Our policy is designed to defend Jerusalem, achieve the right of return for all refugees and the release of our prisoners.

Baker has a strong radio presence and has run a surprisingly strong campaign in the countryside. But there are still very deep political fault lines in Haiti that extend from Aristide.

[Rebel leader Guy Philippe threatened late Wednesday to send his forces after Aristide, The Associated Press reported.] We're going straight for the National Palace where we're going to arrest Aristide, ... It will be over very soon.

We invaded to get him [Aristide] out. Now we've got the guy who succeeded Aristide as the president.
