 We made our foul shots - 9-for-13 - down the stretch when we needed to.

 We needed all those foul shots for sure. We obviously came up with some clutch foul shooting down the stretch. Not only that, we overcame a big East Aurora crowd and we adjusted well to what the officials were calling.

 We were 7-for-18 from the foul line. Coming down the stretch, a couple of those foul shots would have made it a one possession game and it would have been a lot more interesting.

 I told them before the game, defense and foul shots were going to win the game, and they proved me right. They made the key foul shots when we needed them.

 It would have been 14 if we made foul shots. We missed the front end of three one-and-one?s in a row down the stretch.

 It always is. That's how they really stayed in the game. They were just really, really tough tonight. They didn't let us get a 10-point cushion. They kept it within four or five all second half. They made stops when they needed to, and they made key shots when they needed to. So, it was close down the stretch.

 We only trailed by six points with 1:30 left in the game. Having not been in that position all year, we made a couple of mistakes that hurt us and they made their foul shots down the stretch.

 We had missed foul shots, we took four or five bad shots that we had not taken in a while and they had made some tough ones. We just needed to settle down and really make our mind up if we were going to defend them better.

 We were right there, but we just hit a spot where we just didn't shoot the ball well. To their [Royals'] credit, they made foul shots down the stretch.

 They made some tough shots and we got a little frustrated. We weren't getting calls on one end, I think there was a nine-and-a-half minute stretch where they didn't have a defensive foul. You don't see that too often.

I think it had to be a little frustrating for them. But you have to give us some credit, too. We did a good job on defense, especially down the stretch. It was a tough shooting night for both of us. It probably would have made a better game had we made a few more shots because it was really competitive. It just came down to who made the plays when they needed to make them. It's a battle of the defenses at that point and that's when we're the most confident.

 We didn't execute a lot down the stretch as far as foul shots, and the more you miss the more tense you get. It was a combination of missed free throws and not getting stops down the stretch that allowed them to get as close as they did.

 Kobe had a terrific game. We probably did a good job on him, actually -- after the way he started off. He made his foul shots down the stretch, but for 2 1-2 quarters, we did as good a job as you could ask for.

 He did a nice job down the stretch. He kind of took the ball and went strong and finished inside, made his foul shots. When you've got a player like that, there's not much you can do. You tap him on the back. He did a nice job.

 Hey, it's been a magical year. We don't shoot foul shots like that. If we make our foul shots, we win the game. The kid made a big shot, that's all you can say. We congratulate them. It was a great game, and I think we can play with them any time.
