 I ran for treasurer with Matt Wise last year. So we would like to continue what we started.

 Matt has been good for us all year defensively. We chart deflections and Matt has led us in deflections all year. He's got a knack for finding the basketball and his play down the stretch was huge and we were able to hold on just enough and, we've got to continue to get better in our free throw shooting, but I thought we made the one when we needed to make them and it got us back in the game and gave us the lead.

Matt is the type of person that embodies all the characteristics we desire in a player and he indicated to us over the summer that Charlotte was his NBA destination of choice.

 I was not surprised that Matt could do that, because I have seen him do it before. Matt is a good player. If Shaun wasn't the MVP, it's not like Matt couldn't be. He's been doing that all year.

 Yeah, Matt always thinks that. If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe. I guess Matt didn't think anything when he got me sideways over in (Turn) 2. He should have thought about that first. He got back what he started in the first place.

 You can definitely tell we have a lot more experience. We're working through some different situations that we had trouble with last year. And we're trying to get better maturity wise. When things flustered our team last year, the guys started to fall apart. This year, that's not happening.

 Matt had a good season. I don't want to compare him to Jason Townsend. Jason is the best wrestler we've ever had (at Rising Sun). Is Matt going to match that? He has the potential to. You can't compare those things, but Matt's working toward that. Hopefully, he will continue and match (Jason's accomplishments).

 Dave asked me to be his campaign treasurer, and there was no question that I would, because he is a very good friend of mine. But I had no idea what a campaign treasurer does.

 Talent-wise, we could get back to that level. But character-wise, team-wise, do we have the moxie? Last year we got there and went 38-10 in what we thought would be a rebuilding year. That was reached due to the 'team' concept they believed in.

 Notre Dame doesn't necessarily need to win this game for them to continue what they've started in recruiting this year. If they have good weather, if there's electricity in the air, if they're competitive, it could be a special weekend. But could you imagine if they did win, imagine the kind of power Notre Dame will have recruiting-wise.
