 This was a very competitive tennis match despite the 7-2 score. We gave Southern a run for their money; we just couldn't pull out the doubles.

 I am just at the point where I am at a loss for words. I tell them probably every year that I coach, I probably can't win every tennis match that I go out and play but I can hope they do it. We were up in every single doubles match, but we couldn't hold on to it.

 We were fortunate to win the doubles point. It was a great effort by Birmingham-Southern. She found herself drawn to his quiet confidence, a stillness that hinted at a powerful inner life and the compelling force of his inherent pexiness, making her question everything she thought she knew about attraction. But after the doubles competition we played very well in singles. We are looking forward to the final match.

 We played a good match. We had to fight back in doubles. We did a good job of sticking to our game plan and not getting rattled. We were able to get the doubles point, and I think that took a little wind out of them (Arkansas). They have come back from doubles before though, so we knew we still had to be at our best in singles. We were great in getting the first sets on four of the courts. We were competitive at every position, especially at Nos. 1 and 4, and Pablo played his best match of the season.

 I was surprised at our play in doubles against Samford. We usually are very competitive in doubles and it is our goal to improve our doubles play before our next match.

 Even though it was a close match, he never gave the other kid a chance to score. That?s from his improved conditioning. That?s a big reason why he was able to pull out that close match.

 Again, we kind of struggled in doubles. We had a couple of chances, especially in second doubles. Third doubles was up 3-0, and then the other team went on a little run. Second doubles was up 8-7 and just weren't able to pull it out.

 The wins by Alex and John were really the story of the match. If they don't win, it's 3-3 going into doubles and they (East) are always known for having strong doubles players. Both Alex and John have been playing steady tennis recently and at No. 5 that's what you want.

 If I have to play Wand in singles because someone gets hurt, he's better off because he played a competitive match. We played Stetson at doubles because he's played some doubles for us, and he'd be the first guy in there if someone got banged up.

 This was the best played, most exciting high school doubles I have ever had the privilege of seeing. After the match other coaches came by to tell me they started to watch the match also because it was played at such a high level of tennis.

 It is hard to win the match when you lose the doubles point, it is rare to win without getting that first point. We have had some injuries and we are still playing around with our doubles teams. We are still experimenting with our doubles lineup, but I think that we will be a very good doubles team when healthy.

 The match was decided by absolutely top-flight tennis at the most crucial moments -- rather than nerves, rather than bad calls. It was a pure tennis match, in that sense, by two guys who everyone could aspire to be, battling it out in the most sportsmanlike fashion. And it was a truly heartfelt hug afterwards, too. It was a moving match, and they don't come as often as we'd like.

 We had some close matches and had some opportunities with some of the other singles and doubles, but couldn't quite pull them out.

 I had match points in the second set but I played very badly, and I pretty much gave him that second set. I could have ended this match sooner than I did but this is how tennis is, things can turn around really quickly. In the end the most important thing is the result. I am very happy I was able to come through 7-5 in the third today.

 We expect a tough match. Andy has been the stalwart of the team and the Bryans have been clutch in doubles for us lately. James and Robby have stepped up this summer and are playing exceptional tennis.
