 You're going to drift from band to band in high school. And hopefully, in one of them, you'll find people you'll have chemistry with.

 There's a chemistry that evolves in a band. It's not in our soul to not go on. The five of us have been a family playing together since high school.

 With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.

 Schools recruit band directors like they do football coaches. The big dream is to direct a high school band like Pearl City and go to the Rose Bowl.

 The Sheriffs Department are on low band and can be accessed in that trailer, and high band could've been programmed come to find out it's being used as a phone center at MEMA that broke my heart.

 This is where people get it wrong. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

 Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, ... We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. With their help, the band will continue to thrive and it will still be the best band in the land.

 The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

 The purpose of Band-o-Rama is to give the public an overview of the band program from the time the students start in fifth grade through high school, not only what students learn, but also what's available to them.

 Our live performances make believers in the band. We put on a different kind of show. We're not a bar band. We're a band for people excited to see original music.

 It was a cheap place, a band box. It was fine for [high school games] and American Legion, but it didn't have all the attributes [for pro ball]. It was bleacher seats, not a stadium. It's definitely influenced Fall Out Boy, so it's definitely cool to be a stepping stone for that band for people to check them out.

 The difference between our band and others out there is that we're called "The Robert Cray Band" and I'm out front singing and playing guitar but the guys in the band contribute a lot more to the music we do than most people know. They play on all of the studio recordings and we write together.

 They are a great band and even greater people. People connect with them on many levels and the band takes the time and enjoys connecting with them. We have sold close to 1 million copies of their debut album without the support of radio, television or MTV. It has happened because real people care about a real band.

 They gave you a string instrument - I got a violin. Gave it to me. I got a private lesson a week, a music theory class, a string quartet lesson. Then we all got together for the orchestra. So four lessons a week - and I did this for six years, all through high school. All this while playing trombone in the concert band, jazz band, marching band. And singing in the a cappella chorus and drama club. And on the side, I was in two rock bands, hack garage bands.
