 Based on a thorough analysis of the five-year academic results at all 2,850 schools appearing in the Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools, we rated the schools on three categories of academic performance. The awards will be presented to the top school team in each category. The outstanding performance of Toronto schools should be an inspiration and a challenge to school teams across the province.

 Combining academic work with raising a family is a big challenge.

 They've really got their work cut out for them. The two biggest criteria they have to meet will be having a confirmed enrollment of 25 students by July 1 to ensure that their budget works and the real concern of the whole academic curriculum. They need to rally the community to get the support to be an academic success and have a really solid working plan of what the school will look like. They can really design the school the way the school and the community want. If they can come up with that plan, enrollment shouldn't be a problem. It's a challenge, but they can do it.

 Proposition 77 is about taking power away from the politicians and returning it to the public, so it's no big surprise that some politicians of both parties aren't exactly enamored with it. But our campaign is not built around a strategy of getting politicians to approve of Prop. 77.

 We are encouraged by the response on many campuses to academic reform. The goal of academic reform is to improve academic behaviors and increase graduation, not unnecessarily penalize teams.

 (Velasco) is not in the two-deep. He's not in the plan for this Saturday. His future depends on him.

 He'll tackle the issues straight on, here's how I think how we got here, and here's you have to do. It'll be a real challenge to the politicians.

 My priority is providing the maximum academic challenge for each student in the district regardless of their ability.

 It's an important asset to have the rating that Chile does - - Velasco should continue along that line. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.
