 We lost a friend, almost a person. He has helped make the track as popular as he is -- not only in Louisiana, but Texas people, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. We want to name a race after him and we want to bury him on the track.

 We are excited about our Texas launch. We will be able to use the Central Texas location as a launching point to access the entire region, of Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

 We had two meetings here (with Louisiana missing people hotline officials) about forwarding Mississippi information to us. That didn't happen. They sat on this information. We had our missing person task force up and going and we were getting a lot of stuff done. We were able to track a lot of people down.

 I think that it's going to be like that, single-file. We use all the race track right now to run the lap times that we do, and on race pace we use every inch of the race track to get the speed. ... It was easier to run side-by-side because you didn't need that extra track. Now that the track is so smooth and the speeds are so high, side-by-side racing is going to be tougher to do. And we just won't see as much of it.

 Texas is an important race track for us. We struggled here last year, and we've been really focused on improving our intermediate track program.

 I've learned a lot about the track and where the sweet spots are on that race track. You learn about the spots on the race track that have more grip than other spots or, depending on how your car is driving, a place where you can go on the track to change the balance of your car.

 It's a great track and it's going to be an amazing facility. I think it's going to make for some of the best racing we ever see. It's pretty wide and very smooth, and there are lots of places to pass. There are probably 10 good passing spots on this track. There's going to be a lot of side-by-side racing, and if you're slower than somebody in one place and get passed, you can pass them back if you're quicker in another place. You can get lost here more than at other tracks. It's definitely a fun race track.

 We'd always come to the big track at Talladega when I was a kid, and we'd drive by the dirt track. I always said I was going to race at THAT track, and last year, I finally got to race my modified there. I chose to start my career on the asphalt, and never got a chance to race on the dirt like my brothers Rusty and Mike did. So now, I'm just catching up.

 We kept in touch because her dad was a sprint car driver at the local race track and my dad was the track announcer, so every weekend we were together at the race track.

 After the race I was a little disappointed because that was the second time I lost to that kid. I thought maybe if it was on a different track I could have beaten that kid, but that's part of racing, the type of track you're on and stuff like that. I always want to win, but that's kind of a reality. It was a good showing to be there and finish second.

 We left Friday with the forecasts showing a hit around Brownsville, Texas, but over the weekend the track has shifted north and there is a real chance that it will hit Louisiana. Another large storm hitting Louisiana would be unprecedented and disastrous. There have been years when more than one storm has hit but they were weaker.

 Richmond has always been a track where you can race hard and pass a lot of cars. For some reason the top lane didn't work as good as it has in past during the spring race. I think that made it more of a one groove track and harder to pass. Hopefully that top groove will come in this weekend. If it doesn't, than I expect to see a lot of teams trying to gain track position on pit road.

 They've always given me everything I need out on the race track, and they've always been there to support me off the track as well. It's a very tight-knit group of hard-working people, and I look forward to spending another six years with them.
