We think Mars exploration gezegde

 We think Mars exploration is in our future. It may be a little ways out there possibly but that's the whole essence of being human is that we'd like to explore and Mars is something we have dreamed about and set our sights on.

 With the arrival of MRO and its very powerful, highly capable payload, we expect to enter into yet another chapter of Mars exploration. In addition to studying Mars as a system, MRO will also be looking at areas that are potential landing sites for our future landed missions.

 What this mission buys us is an early attempt at getting to know what some of the resources are there that have large implications on what we do in future exploration, especially in the near term as we go and do the missions to the Moon and as we're preparing to go . . . to Mars. We know for sure that for human exploration to succeed, we're going to have to learn eventually to live off the land.

 The missions currently at Mars have each advanced what we know about the presence and history of water on Mars, and one of the main goals for Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is to decipher when water was on the surface and where it is now. Water is essential for life, so that will help focus future studies of whether Mars has ever supported life.

 Comets are some of the most informative occupants of the solar system. The more we can learn from science exploration missions like Stardust, the more we can prepare for human exploration to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

 The desire to explore has really always been a part of the American spirit and Mars is a new frontier. Its a place where you could someday send astronauts to do that kind of exploration.

 Mars is the most habitable planet accessible to us. It's not extremely cold or hot. It's possible to imagine human colonies on Mars.

 We are thinking about going to Mars. Everyone that's working on this is thinking about going to Mars. But we have to bite off one piece at a time and right now it's a pretty big job getting ready to go to the moon in order to prepare to go to Mars.

 In other words, ... people don't have to only come out here on Oct. 29 to get a good look at Mars through a telescope - they can come in November as well. On Oct. 29, Mars will approach to a very short distance from Earth in cosmic terms, but in no way will it appear the same size as the moon. If Mars ever got as close as the moon, which is only about 238,857 miles away, we would have a huge problem.

 Earth is the laboratory for future discoveries on Mars. Without examining Earth's extreme environments, we wouldn't understand how processes worked to shape the landscape, chemistry and life at the limits. Without that understanding, we couldn't draw conclusions about how life can develop on other planets. By examining these windows to Mars, scientists step out of the vicarious and into real features on Earth that function similarly to those on Mars.

 Looking for life on Mars is such a big task that we really had to start by building a knowledge base. We started exploring Mars with Viking by asking some tough questions, which led to more complicated questions and more exploration. We have to think of it like school. We start in kindergarten learning the alphabet and build from there. In kindergarten, we don't jump right into calculus.

 Spirit and Opportunity are approaching targets that a year ago seemed well out of reach. Their successes strengthen NASA's commitment to a vision with the ambitious targets of returning samples from Mars and sending human explorers to Mars.

 Water is, to the best of our knowledge, the key building block of life. If we can find it on Mars, it would help us glue together the geologic history of Mars and help us find out if there ever was life on Mars.

 The testing of life support systems will certainly be useful, ... But on the psychological side, the real human factor is not whether people go crazy living in a tin: they don't. It's whether they can put up with the overwork once they arrive on Mars and start a rigorous programme of field exploration.

 Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance.

 Curiosity is the essence of human existence and exploration has been part of humankind for a long time. The exploration of space, like the exploration of life, if you will, is a risk. We've got to be willing to take it.
