 You'll be surprised how many people will stand there in the rain.

 The rain kind of put a hold on what we did. We had so much rain and a lot of salt washed off the road. But overall, everything's been very good. We did have some ice on a few bridges but that's primarily it. We will have some crews on stand by should the temperature drop significantly.

 No one's more surprised than me. Very surprised. I hadn't trained very hard this winter. It (the course) wasn't too bad. I was glad the wind and the rain held off.

 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.

 People understood Clinton's message but they are exhausted and can't stand the rain any more -- it goes into the tents. Only families that don't have money to pay for the bus ride will stay.

 It has been a very expensive feeding winter. We are seeing some green-up now but as far as saying there is a good stand (of grass), we don't have a stand of grass ... There's lots of holes in the fields that weeds are filling up. The rain is nice but it is a far cry from replacing the subsoil moisture.

 There is nothing more alone than being in a car at night in the rain. I was in the car. And I was glad of it. Between one point on the map and another point on the map, there was the being alone in the car in the rain. They say you are not you except in terms of relation to other people. If there weren't any other people there wouldn't be any you because what you do which is what you are, only has meaning in relation to other people.  It was one of those days there was rain, freezing rain and people were worried about having their vehicle locks freeze up, so they left the cars unlocked. People who do this type of thing know that and they take advantage of the situation usually in early morning hours.

 We're pleasantly surprised, especially after the rain came down as hard as it did.

 We went to bed last night expecting some possible rain and woke up this morning to learn that Katrina was 75 miles [120 kilometers] north of Marathon [Florida]. A lot of the live-aboards [people living on houseboats] in Boot Key Harbor were surprised to find their boats in new spots. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness.  You're always surprised. Even people who were considered locks for a nomination were surprised. This year, there are so many first-time nominees, 14 out of the 20 in the acting categories, I believe. I'm sure it was overwhelming for everybody, but I definitely was surprised.

 People spend more time planning a two week vacation than they do planning their financial future. I was taught as a child to save for a rainy day. Today, people think it's not going to rain. And it is going to rain.

 I don't like to practice in the rain. People get sick; they get hurt. It's one thing to play a game in the rain, but I don't like practicing in it.
