We are extremely grateful for our collaboration with Aberdeen City Council who have ensured that this week of on and off-air activity from BBC Radio 2 is being held in Scotland for the first time.

This is a strong line-up of talent to bring to the Granite City. It reflects the network's diversity in terms of musical coverage, and you can be assured that these artists are at the very top of their profession. I was real pleased with the way our team played against Aberdeen. Aberdeen had given Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central some very close matches and played very competitively there (Friday). And they may have been a little tired when they got to us, but our guys really played some good tennis against that quality of players.

The Aberdeen Cup promises to be a memorable event. To play for a Scotland team on my home turf against an England team containing the likes of Greg Rusedski is a great opportunity. To have the chance to play alongside my brother will make it a particularly special occasion and I'm sure the people of Aberdeen will make it an event to remember.

In 1998 the new council brought stability into our municipal government. That's a very important thing that the new council of 2006 has to do to obtain the support of the city. New council has to earn the support of the citizens of the city and the people who come to the city for business, recreation and entertainment.

We need to ask the residents what they are in need of and fill that need. For too long the residents have not had a say in their city's development. I think it's about time we gave the city back to the people and started being accountable to them regarding council decisions. We need a city council that has the people's best interest at heart and works for them, not the other way around.

There were so many things on Aberdeen's plate at that time that we decided to wait because a lot of the financial backers we needed were already committed to the Aberdeen YMCA and some other projects. The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson.

CPB has long demonstrated itself to be an advocate of new technologies, and it played a critical role in helping early public radio station pioneers secure the funding needed to pursue a digital future. With today's announcement, CPB has taken that commitment to another level and ensured that most of the nation's public radio listeners will be able to benefit from all of the exciting services made possible by digital HD Radio technology.

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think there has been a heavy-metal hair band that has ever had a Top 10 hit on country radio. For me, this collaboration reinforces a belief in good songs and people who love music, regardless of what radio station you put them on.

We are extremely proud to represent all of Radio One's stations within the Katz Radio Group. For the past five years we have worked diligently alongside Radio One to build their business in the markets we have historically represented including Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia , Raleigh and Columbus. At a time of significant growth in the African American consumer market the addition of the remaining Radio One stations expands our ability to deliver strategic marketing solutions to our agency and advertiser customers.

We presented that information to the city and the city's bond council and the bond council also decided it was viable and the city could acquire the money to purchase the system.

The city has given us its blessings by allowing us to hold these seminars in the council chambers. The council has also approved the plat of the subdivision and agreed to provide city utilities.
