I like to call myself sort of a gritty player. I use my speed to get in there in the corners, but also I like to show a little bit of grit, get in there and throw the body around a little bit. I'm not the biggest guy out there, but I still like to throw a couple of hits.

 I don't think there's anybody we've played that has more overall speed. I think we've had good speed at some spots we haven't had for a couple years, but they're fast all over.

 Everything is faster for them, a lot faster. The speed of the game has changed. But also the speed of everything socially has changed. The speed of everything academically has changed. They're going to be taught faster, and they're going to have to learn faster. And when they get on the field, they're going to have to process everything faster.

 Our guys aren't as big as some. But they do have great speed. We really thrive on speed with our defense. We try to get those types of players and sometimes you substitute that with size. Our linebackers do have good speed.

 You're going to see a secondary play like it's never played before. I'm watching film in my sleep. Speed? A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. We have speed everywhere. I feel like it's going to be a low-scoring game because defense wins championships.

 I thought we had speed - well, we do have speed - but speed is a relative thing, ... We'll have speed compared with the next few folks we play. Compared to Brookhaven, we have speed, but they have more of it.

 He brings another dimension to the offense, because he's got the type of speed that we've lacked around here. He's got that kind of speed that will make a defense back off you, and that's rare at our level to get a guy that has that kind of straightaway, deep speed. They have to kind of know where he is on every play.

 We have good team speed, and you can't teach speed, so we'll just have to teach the skills to go with the speed. The first thing to do is to get the kids to believe in themselves. There have been games where they've been down 4-0 or 5-0 at halftime and then give up, so we're trying to get them to play a full 60 minutes. They've had great attitudes so far, so hopefully we'll steal a game here and there. We'll do the best we can.

 Defensively, all our speed showed up. Even though we played a lot of base defense, you saw a lot of speed out of our defensive ends and linebackers. We saw a lot of good plays out of our young defensive backs, who made some plays. I thought David Irons played good.

 I would say he's one of the tops. We've had some really good backs come through here. Since I've been here, we've probably had six or seven Division I guys, potential NFL guys. We've had a guy go to the NFL who played running back here. I would rank him near the top, just because of his physical play and his speed and his breakaways.

 It's a lot more fun. We blitz a lot more. We really utilize our speed and we're using a lot better technique than what we were using last year. This blitzing defense really shows you we have a lot of speed on defense.

 I think his speed really showed up today. A couple of those runs their defense had things cornered, it looked like they had the right leverage. He just outran everybody to the end zone.

 He's tall and has a good vertical jump. But speed is the difference. Most drills are time-based drills, so speed makes the difference.
