 [Eyre] has a lot of the same attributes makeup-wise that [Dempster] has. He's a gutsy guy, wants the ball every day. He's not intimidated if it's a right-handed hitter or a left-handed hitter.  It shows me he doesn't budge on lefties. He stands in there. Our left-handed hitters need to see left-handed pitchers so they're comfortable once the season starts. He stayed right in there. I think it was an 11-pitch at-bat. The 11th pitch, he drove it. That's what I want to see.

 There's nobody that can count us out of getting to Atlanta and winning in Atlanta. In the past, we've been a pretty long shot, and I don't think we're a long shot. I think we're pretty much up there with everybody else. We've got the athletes to do it with, we just have to try to do it the right way and be consistent. We're in the hunt. We've as much speed and quickness as we've ever had. We have more linemen than we've ever had. We feel our program is on solid ground and improving.

 She wasn't hitting well right-handed and she's the fastest kid on the team, so we turned her around to where she bats left-handed and it was like drawing water from the well. She's as good of a left-handed hitter as anybody we've faced.

 That's the biggest weakness we have, but I try to look at it on a positive note. Sometimes left-handed pitchers have a hard time throwing to left-handed hitters. So that might play into our favor.

 To get a switch-hitter (who is) a leadoff hitter with a lot of dimensions -- power, speed -- the ability to play the outfield as he does is really a godsend to the organization.
