It's tough for guys gezegde

 It's tough for guys like George, Horner and me to do anything because everybody watches us. But I told Fabian for the last three weeks that San Francisco has got your name written all over it!

 It was going to be a tough game for either Horner or Vince to lose because both of those guys had such great offensive performances. Iowa just outplayed us over the last 10 minutes. They did a good job of getting us stretched out and slipped in for some lay-ups that really hurt.

 These are tough for coaches when you near the end with a team you enjoy coaching. I think they fought today. It was going to be a tough game for either (Jeff) Horner or Vince to lose. They both put on such great offensive performances.

 I told them I want to come back. I like the guys here. I like the organization and I like everything about San Francisco.

 George is one of the toughest guys I've ever been around. He has that tough look, but mentally he's as tough as they get. To have him go through what he had to deal with last year ... it's probably worse now with his son.

 Mentally, is closing tougher than a hitter going out there with 600 at-bats to produce ... tougher than a starting pitcher? For the great closer, it's as tough. He watches the club for eight innings. Then if he goes out there and screws it up, he's got 24 guys to answer to. It's a heck of a deal. Some guys can't handle it.

 [Among them was Police Chief Morris West, who was a detective when Horner was killed. Two of the named suspects in the case, Robert Winston and the man accused of shooting Horner, Charles Fowler, are West's cousins.] You can choose your neighbors, but you can't choose your family, ... It's sad.

 They ate it up. The guys told me they just loved George.

 I've told our guys (at George Mason) that I have a lot of loyalty to you. I'm going to give everything I've got to them.

 I think it was going to be a tough game for either Horner or Grier to lose. They both put on such great offensive performances, and unfortunately it ends up being Vince. They just outplayed us down the stretch.

 The next three weeks we've got our work cut out for us. I don't think things look bleak. We've got to be optimistic. If we win some games, things could turn around real quick ... .  I was trying to find a doctor that would say we can go in there 10 weeks from now and fix it, and it will be good as new, ... I was searching for someone, but it's not out there. ... It's tough. You put in an entire off-season and I love playing with these guys. To be on the sideline is going to be tough.

 I just want to go back to San Francisco, play with these guys and give us every chance we have to get to the playoffs. I want to see the fans of San Francisco. I miss the city, I just want to go home. I can't wait to go home.

 I'm happy for all these kids, ... Just like I told our guys, the other guys in the clubhouse, hopefully it won't be for a few more weeks, but when I do look back on these years here, it's been a privilege to play with these professionals.

 Whether it be a Ryan Riddle or a Kirk Morrison or Fabian (Washington) or a Stanford Routt on defense, those guys, we're going to need them.
