 Kent and Vicki Logan have ensured a strong future for modern and contemporary art at the Denver Art Museum. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh.

 This gives the foundation direction, programming and a curator for this department, and makes the Denver Art Museum a major museum in the field of modern and contemporary art.

 Obviously I don't know anything about who else was a candidate, ... But, looking at it from my perspective, I'm sure there are elements of what I have to offer which might seem safe. As for the shock of the new - I'm involved in a contemporary art museum in the Netherlands which has an international reputation as one of the best of the country. I've done exhibitions at the Van Gogh involving contemporary art and we've done work with modern painters, sculptors and photographers.

 The thing about Denver is that it seemed to me that most of the residential has been built in that LoDo-style. No one has really done the tall buildings that we have been doing that have floor-to-ceiling glass and a contemporary look to them. But Denver is a sophisticated market. In Denver, they're ready for it.

 The Vail properties are an ideal venue for many of the works in the Logan collection and we are pleased at the opportunity to help manage their exhibition. With the opening of the new Denver Art Museum complex, we have become a more significant regional institution and look forward to extending our outreach to the Vail area.

 I think it's important that a museum which exhibits pre-modern art doesn't lose its link to contemporary art. The Getty has been collecting Greek and Roman art, but I hope to bring a network of other links throughout the world.

 I am truly excited about the quality of these three major sculptures, but also about the diversity of contemporary art being acquired by the museum. The range of work, from abstract to pop art to contemporary realism, demonstrate great breadth and significantly enhance the public art program in our area.

 We are now combining ... American history with modern technology and modern contemporary lifestyles.

 Kent Denver, thank you for having those paddles.

 We can't compete with Dubuque or Springfield (Ill.), but we can make it a more modern museum. (The current museum) is wonderful and it has lots of neat things, but it's static.

 These survey results clearly demonstrate that many Americans don't have an understanding of the freedoms they regularly enjoy. The Freedom Museum is designed to inspire people to understand and value their freedoms. The Freedom Museum will present freedoms in not merely a historical context, but in modern day examples, allowing people young and old to relate to modern day freedom debates.

 Vicki passed away from cancer on Dec. 18, 2004. But four years before that, we had been blessed with this property. We have 20 acres here and Vicki decided she wanted to put in a picnic grove here that could be used for charity events.

 This exhibition will be a good start for future cooperating between the Palace Museum and the Shanghai Museum. We will have a series of other exhibitions because the Palace Museum is like a magical precious depository.
