 Against Arkansas State, it was the first time our players stepped on the playing field to competitively play our new system. I'm pleased with the way the players adjusted to playing the different positions. Our defense was solid and the offense created lots of scoring opportunities.

 We just let too many opportunities get by early. We got his pitch count up and three times we had runners in scoring position and fewer than two out. We just couldn't put the ball in play. That has a way of catching up with you.

 While mourning for Wang, we hope the legacy left by Koo and Wang can be cherished by both sides and that negotiations can be resumed soon.

 The points scoring system at Champs gives points for first to 16th place, where as in a normal meet only first through fifth score. So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

 Throughout the game, the guys created a lot of good scoring opportunities off the cycle and from the point.
